Abstract:Through ex-situ thermal desorption experiments on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) contaminated soil, the effects of alkali based compounds(Ca(OH) 2 ,CaO,NaOH),oxidation compounds(sodium persulfate, benzoyl peroxide, sodium percarbonate) and other type of modifiers(FeCl 3 ,CuCl 2 ,granular activated carbon) on the thermal desorption efficiency of PAHs were investigated, and the optimal modifier and ratio were selected. The preferred results for the three types of modifiers were 2.0%(mass fraction, the same below) Ca(OH) 2 ,5.0% benzoyl peroxide, and 5.0% FeCl 3 respectively. Adding 2.0% Ca(OH) 2 to desorb at 300 ℃ for 10 minutes, adding 5.0% benzoyl peroxide to desorb at 200 ℃ for 60 minutes, or adding 5.0% FeCl 3 to desorb at 150 ℃ for 60 minutes could make the residual amount of each PAHs component met the remediation standards specified in the “Site soil environmental risk assessment screening values”(DB11/T 811-2011). Adding 2.0% Ca(OH) 2 had the best effect on the thermal desorption and removal of PAHs from soil. At 300 ℃,the thermal desorption and removal rate of PAHs reached the highest of 96.31%. However, the thermal desorption and removal rate of PAHs was significantly improved by adding 5.0% of benzoyl peroxide.
