Progress and Theoretical Framework of the Yellow River Cultural Tourism Research:Comparison Based on International River Cultural Tourism

Abstract:The Yellow River cultural tourism is an important strategy for high-quality development of culture and ecology in the Yellow River Basin.The historical experience of international river cultural tourism development has great reference value for the study of the Yellow River cultural tourism.Based on summarizing the origin and connotation of the Yellow River cultural tourism, this paper systematically sorts out and refines the research results related to the Yellow River cultural tourism and international river cultural tourism by using the "space-theme-method" comparative analysis framework, so as to explore the weak parts and improvement methods of the Yellow River cultural tourism research.It is found as follows.The research of the Yellow River cultural tourism focuses on macro strategic management and planning, tourism resource development and evaluation, etc.However, the research of foreign river cultural tourism focuses on the case studies of cultural routes and cultural nodes at the meso and micro scales.For the research of the Yellow River cultural tourism, we should pay attention to the balance of supply and demand in the tourism market, innovate the collaborative technological path between cultural tourism development and the well-being of residents, and realize the management transformation research of "people-river relationship" in terms of culture emotion, spatiotemporal behaviour and tourism response.Finally, based on the lack of current research, the theoretical framework of the Yellow River cultural tourism system is put forward to try to solve the core issues such as the protection, inheritance and promotion of the Yellow River culture and the creation of the "happy river" of tourism.The study results provide academic support and Chinese wisdom plan for the high-quality development of the Yellow River cultural tourism and its cooperation with international river cultural tourism.
