Abstract:Pituitary follicle-stimulating hormone（FSH） plays an essential role in mammalian reproductive activities because of its functions in regulating gametogenesis, steroid hormone production, and cell metabolism. As a member of the TGF-β superfamily, Activin A can selectively promote the synthesis and secretion of FSH. This paper summarized the latest advances in the biological functions of Activin A and in the regulation of FSH synthesis and secretion, to provide a theoretical reference and basis for further exploration of the functions of Activin A and the development of related hormone products for artificial regulation of animal reproduction.
