Abstract:The iron-catalyzed highly Markovnikovtype selective and enantioselective hydrosilylation of terminal aliphatic alkenes with good functional group tolerance is developed. This operationally simple protocol uses earth-abundant transition metal catalyst, readily available aliphatic alkenes and hydrosilanes to construct valuable chiral organosilanes with better than 99% ee in most cases. The chiral aliphatic alkan-2-ol and chiral dihydroxysilane as an analogue of ketone could be efficiently synthesized via further derivatization of chiral organosilanes without any racemization.

Abstract:A highly regio- and enantioselective cobalt-catalyzed sequential hydrosilylation/hydrogenation of alkynes was developed to afford chiral silanes. This one-pot method is operationally simple and atom economic. It makes use of relatively simple and readily available starting materials, namely alkynes, silanes, and hydrogen gas, to construct more valuable chiral silanes. Primary mechanistic studies demonstrated that highly regioselective hydrosilylation of alkynes with silanes occurred as a first step, and the subsequent cobaltcatalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of the resulting vinylsilanes showed good enantioselectivity.

Abstract:A cobalt-catalyzed highly Markovnikov-type and enantioselective hydrosilylation of alkenes is developed for the efficient synthesis of valuable chiral dihydrosilanes. This protocol is operationally simple and atom-economy, and using relatively simple and readily available starting materials. Pt Catalyzed Hydrosilylation of Fluorinated Phenoxy-Imine Ligands with Hydrosilanes

Abstract:The hydrosilylation reactions of three fluorinated phenoxy-imine ligands, N-(3-allylsalicylidene)-2,6-difluoroaniline(1), N-(3-allylsalicylidene)-2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroaniline(2) and N-(3-allylsalicylidene)-2,3,4,5,6-pentafluoroaniline (3), with triethoxysilane (TES) and 1,1,1,3,5,5,5-heptamethyltrisiloxane (MDHM) catalyzed by Pt complex (Pt-PMVS) has been studied. Three silylated products bearing Si-OEt bonds were prepared, after optimizing reaction conditions, the product selectivity were in the range of 51%similar to 59%, and followed the order 1>2>3. The products and byproducts were isolated and characterized by FT-IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR,Si- 29 NMR, HRMS, and elemental analysis. As a comparison, other three silylated phenoxy-imine ligands were obtained by hydrosilylation of ligands with MDHM. The product selectivity were around 93%similar to 96%, and the side reactions were substantially suppressed.

Abstract:A highly chemo-, regio- and stereoselective cobalt-catalyzed Markovnikov hydrosilylation of alkynes was developed. Various functionalized groups, such as halides, free alcohols, free aniline, ketones, esters, amides, and nitriles are tolerated, which may lead to further applications and late-stage derivatizations. To date, this is the most efficient cobalt catalytic system (TOF=65520h(-1); TOF=turnover frequency) for hydrosilylation of alkynes. The Hiyama-Denmark cross-coupling reactions of vinylsilanes with aryl iodides underwent smoothly to afford 1,1-diarylethenes. A unique regioselectivity-controllable hydrosilylation/hydroboration reaction of alkynes was also described.

Abstract:Here, we report a cobalt-catalyzed sequential dehydrogenative Heck silylation/hydroamination of styrenes with hydrosilane and diazo compound to access 1-amino-2-silyl compounds with excellent regioselectivity. This difunctionalization reaction could undergo smoothly using 1 mol% catalyst loading with good functional group tolerance. Not only di- and tri-substituted hydrosilanes, but also alkoxysilane are suitable, which does explore the scope of the family of 1-amino-2-silyl compounds. The ligand relay phenomenon between neutral tridentate NNN ligand and anionic NNN ligand is observed for the first time via absorption spectra analysis in this one-pot, two-step transformations. The primary mechanism has been proposed based on the control experiments.

Abstract:Here, we report a highly efficient rhodium-catalyzed enantioselective hydrosilylation of unactivated alkenes, achieving excellent regioselectivity and high enantioselectivity. The use of a commercially available chiral ferrocene-based phosphine-oxazoline ligand was crucial in achieving excellent chiral induction and high reactivity with undirected unactiviated alkenes, delivering Si-stereogenic monohydrosilanes in high yields and excellent enantioselectivities. This protocol represents a robust, scalable method for the enantioselective synthesis of Si-stereogenic monohydrosilanes, featuring a low catalyst loading, a broad substrate scope and exceptional functional group and heterocycle tolerance. Moreover, the late-stage functionalization of complex motifs opens a new avenue for incorporating chiral silicon motifs into pharmaceuticals and bioactive compounds.

Abstract:An iron-catalyzed highly anti-Markovnikov selective, enantioselective hydrosilylation of vinylcyclopropanes with PhSiH3 was reported for the preparation of valuable chiral allylic silanes via stereospecific C-C bond cleavage. Simultaneously, difficultly prepared chiral VCPs could be also obtained with moderate to excellent enantioselectivity via this kinetic resolution pathway. The chiral Z-allylic silanes could be converted to various chiral allylic derivatives. A possible mechanism via an iron-silyl species was proposed based on experimental and computational studies.

Abstract:A copper-catalyzed regiodivergent hydrosilylation of a wide range of simple allenes is reported. Linear and branched allylsilanes were formed by judicious choice of solvents. Abstract:Here, we describe simple B(C6F5)3-catalyzed mono- and dihydrosilylation reactions of terminal alkynes by using a silane-tuned chemoselectivity strategy, affording vinylsilanes and unsymmetrical geminal bis(silanes). This strategy is applicable to the dihydrosilylation of both aliphatic and aryl terminal alkynes with different silane combinations. Gram-scale synthesis and conducting the reaction without the exclusion of air and moisture demonstrate the practicality of this methodology. The synthetic utility of the resulting products was further highlighted by the structural diversification of geminal bis(silanes) through transforming the secondary silane into other silyl groups. Comprehensive theoretical calculations combined with kinetical isotope labeling studies have shown that a prominent kinetic differentiation between the hydrosilylation of alkynes and vinylsilane is responsible for the chemoselective construction of unsymmetrical 1,1-bis(silanes).

Abstract:Iridium complexes are known catalysts for a range of silylation reactions. However, the exploitation for selective hydrosilylation of unsymmetrical internal alkynes has been limitedly known. Described here is a new example of this type. Specifically, [(cod)IrCl]2 catalyzes the efficient and mild hydrosilylation of thioalkynes by various silanes with excellent regio- and stereoselectivity. DFT studies suggested a new mechanism involving Ir(I) hydride as the key intermediate.

Abstract:Regiodivergent addition reactions provide straightforward and atom-economic approaches to access different regioisomers. However, the regio-chemistry control to access all the possible results is still challenging especially for the reaction involving multiple addition steps. Herein, we reported regio-controllable cobalt-catalyzed sequential hydrosilylation/hydroboration of arylacetylenes, delivering all the possible regio-outcomes with high regioselectivities (up to >20/1 rr for all the cases). Each regioisomer of value-added silylboronates could be efficiently and regioselectively obtained from the same materials. The adjustment of the ligands of cobalt catalysts combined with dual catalysis relay strategy is the key to achieve regio-chemistry control. This regio-controllable research might inspire the exploration of the diversity-oriented synthesis that involves multiple additions and provide full sets of regioisomers of other synthetic useful molecules.

Abstract:<p class="a-plus-plus">Hydrosilylation is one of the most important reactions in synthetic chemistry and ranks as a fundamental method to access organosilicon compounds in industrial and academic processes. However, the enantioselective construction of chiral-at-silicon compounds <em class="a-plus-plus">via</em> catalytic asymmetric hydrosilylation remained limited and difficult. Here we report a highly enantioselective hydrosilylation of ynones, a type of carbonyl-activated alkynes, using a palladium catalyst with a chiral binaphthyl phosphoramidite ligand. The stereospecific hydrosilylation of ynones affords a series of silicon-stereogenic silylenones with up to 94% yield, >20:1 regioselectivity and 98:2 enantioselectivity. The density functional theory (DFT) calculations were conducted to elucidate the reaction mechanism and origin of high degree of stereoselectivity, in which the powerful potential of aromatic interaction in this reaction is highlighted by the multiple C-H-π interaction and aromatic cavity-oriented enantioselectivity-determining step during desymmetric functionalization of Si-H bond.</p>

Abstract:Chiral organosilanes are of great value in asymmetric synthesis, functional materials, and medicinal chemistry. Compared with single-silyl compounds, bis(silyl) ones are understudied because of the lack of the efficient synthetic protocols. The development of efficient synthetic approaches to access bis(silyl) compounds is highly desirable for studying their basic properties and potential utilities. Here, a cobalt-catalyzed sequential double hydrosilylation of aliphatic alkynes was developed to synthesize highly enantioenriched gem-bis(silyl)alkanes. This protocol used simple aliphatic alkynes and silanes to construct valuable chiral gem-bis(silyl)alkanes. The control experiments, isotopic labeling experiments, kinetic studies, and density functional theory calculations were conducted to elucidate the reaction mechanism. The synthetic versatility of gem-bis(silyl)alkanes was demonstrated by the synthesis of chiral organosilanols, α-hydroxysilanes through selective C–Si bond transformation and hydrosilylation of alkynes to construct chiral silanes containing adjacent C-stereocenter and Si-stereocenter.
