Abstract:Lung ultrasound images have some artifacts, such like A-lines, B-lines. B-line artifacts are thought to be associated with many clinical lung disease. It lacks quantification methods to measure the state of lung. This paper proposed an quantitative index -injury depth- which is the depth of lung injury from pleural line to reflect the extent of lung damage. Two methods are used to evaluate the injury depth of lung based on the RF raw data in middle area of B-lines, including: echo peak time (EPT) method and two-dimensional radio frequency auto-correlation (RFAC) method. The feasibility of the method proposed in this paper was verified by the experiments of sponge imitation. The preliminary animal experiments were also carried out with the oleic acid induced rabbit lung injury model. It shows that the damage area of lung tissue was enlarged and the evaluated injury depth increased with the increase of time after injection of oleic acid in rabbits.
