Abstract:In order to find out the effects of different potato planting patterns on soil nutrients and microorganisms in semi-arid areas, field experiments of potato intercropping with broad bean were carried out to monitor the dynamic change characteristics of soil nutrient content and soil bacterial colony diversity throughout the growth period of crops. The results showed that compared with monoculture potato, all intercropping models could significantly increase the content of alkali hydrolyzable nitrogen, while the content of available potassium decreased to some extent; when the intercropping ratio of potato to broad bean was 2 ∶2, the species abundance and stability increased significantly at the genus level, and the genetic relationship of species in the community was the largest; when the intercropping ratio of potato to broad bean was 2∶8, the species abundance decreased and the stability was poor, but the quantity of dominant species in soil increased; the potato yield of each intercropping treatment did not increase significantly, but the overall yield increased. The land equivalent ratio of potato to broad bean was greater than 1, which indicated that intercropping had a great advantage in increasing yield.
