Abstract:We consider a gradient flow generated by a complex Hessian functional which is defined on compact Kahler manifolds. By setting up the a priori estimates of the admissible solutions, we prove the long-time existence of the solution to the flow and its convergence. Thus we show the functional admits a local minimal point in the space of admissible functions. As its application, we show the solvability of a class of complex Hessian equations.

Abstract:In this paper, by employ the cutoff function and the maximum principle, some Hamilton-Souplet-Zhang type gradient estimates for porous medium type equation are deduced. As a special case, an Hamilton-Souplet-Zhang type gradient estimates of the heat equation is derived which is different from the result of Souplet-Zhang. Furthermore, our results generalize those of Zhu. As application, some Livillous theorems for ancient solution are derived.

Abstract:In this article we present new gradient estimates for positive solutions to a class of nonlinear elliptic equations involving the f-Laplacian on a smooth metric measure space. The gradient estimates of interest are of Souplet-Zhang and Hamilton types respectively and are established under natural lower bounds on the generalised Bakry-Émery Ricci curvature tensor. From these estimates we derive amongst other things Harnack inequalities and general global constancy and Liouville-type theorems. The results and approach undertaken here provide a unified treatment and extend and improve various existing results in the literature. Some implications and applications are presented and discussed.

Abstract:In this article we derive gradient estimation for positive solution of the equation \begin{equation*} (\partial_t-\Delta_f)u = A(u)p(x,t) + B(u)q(x,t) + \mathcal{G}(u) \end{equation*} on a weighted Riemannian manifold evolving along the $(k,m)$ super Perelman-Ricci flow \begin{equation*} \frac{\partial g}{\partial t}(x,t)+2Ric_f^m(g)(x,t)\ge -2kg(x,t). \end{equation*} As an application of gradient estimation we derive a Harnack type inequality along with a Liouville type theorem.

Abstract:In this paper, by maximum principle and cutoff function, we investigate gradient estimates for positive solutions to two nonlinear parabolic equations under Ricci flow. The related Harnack inequalities are deduced. An result about positive solutions on closed manifolds under Ricci flow is abtained. As applications, gradient estimates and Harnack inequalities for positive solutions to the heat equation under Ricci flow are derived. These results in the paper can be regard as generalizing the gradient estimates of Li-Yau, J. Y. Li, Hamilton and Li-Xu to the Ricci flow. Our results also improve the estimates of S. P. Liu and J. Sun to the nonlinear parabolic equation under Ricci flow.

Abstract:In this paper we prove some Hamilton type and Li-Yau type gradient estimates on positive solutions to generalized nonlinear parabolic equations on smooth metric measure space with compact boundary. The geometry of the space in terms of lower bounds on the weighted Bakry-Emery Ricci curvature tensor and weighted mean curvature of the boundary are key in proving generalized local and global gradient estimates. Various applications of these gradient estimates in terms of parabolic Harnack inequalities and Liouville type results are discussed. Further consequences to some specific models informed by the nature of the nonlinearities are highlighted.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a geometric flow for Lagrangian submanifolds in a Kähler manifold that stays in its initial Hamiltonian isotopy class and is a gradient flow for volume. The stationary solutions are the Hamiltonian stationary Lagrangian submanifolds. The flow is not strictly parabolic but it corresponds to a fourth order strictly parabolic scalar equation in the cotangent bundle of the submanifold via Weinstein's Lagrangian neighborhood theorem. For any compact initial Lagrangian immersion, we establish short-time existence, uniqueness, and higher order estimates when the second fundamental forms are uniformly bounded up to time $T$.

Abstract:In this paper the Nash-Moser iteration method is used to study the gradient estimates of solutions to the quasilinear elliptic equation $\Delta_p u-|\nabla u|^q+b(x)|u|^{r-1}u=0$ defined on a complete Riemannian manifold $(M,g)$. When $b(x)\equiv0$, a unified Cheng-Yau type estimate of the solutions to this equation is derived. Regardless of whether this equation is defined on a manifold or a region of Euclidean space, certain technical and geometric conditions posed in \cite[Theorem E, F]{MR3261111} are weakened and hence some of the estimates due to Bidaut-Véron, Garcia-Huidobro and Véron (see \cite[Theorem E, F]{MR3261111}) are improved. In addition, we extend their results to the case $p>n=\dim(M)$. When $b(x)$ does not vanish, we can also extend some estimates for positive solutions to the above equation defined on a region of the Euclidean space due to Filippucci-Sun-Zheng \cite{filippucci2022priori} to arbitrary solutions to this equation on a complete Riemannian manifold. Even in the case of Euclidean space, the estimates for positive solutions in \cite{filippucci2022priori} and our results can not cover each other.

Abstract:In this paper we prove gradient estimates of both elliptic and parabolic types, specifically, of Souplet-Zhang, Hamilton and Li-Yau types for positive smooth solutions to a class of nonlinear parabolic equations involving the Witten or drifting Laplacian on smooth metric measure spaces. These estimates are established under various curvature conditions and lower bounds on the generalised Bakry-Émery Ricci tensor and find utility in proving elliptic and parabolic Harnack-type inequalities as well as general Liouville-type and other global constancy results. Several applications and consequences are presented and discussed.

Abstract:In this paper, combining Nash-Moser iteration and Sallof-Coste type Sobolev ineualities, we establish fundamental and concise $C^0$ and $C^1$ estimates for solutions to a class of nonlinear elliptic equations of the form $$\Delta u(x)+a(x)u(x)\ln u(x)+b(x)u(x)=0,$$ which possesses abundant geometric backgrounds. Utilizing these estimates which retrieve more geometric information, we obtain some further properties of such solutions. Especially, we prove a local Liouville type theorem of corresponding constant coefficient equation.

Abstract:In this paper we study gradient estimates for the positive solutions of the porous medium equation: \documentclass[12pt]{minimal}\usepackage{amsmath}\usepackage{wasysym}\usepackage{amsfonts}\usepackage{amssymb}\usepackage{amsbsy}\usepackage{mathrsfs}\usepackage{upgreek}\setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt}\begin{document}$$u_t=\Delta u^m$$\end{document} where m>1, which is a nonlinear version of the heat equation. We derive local gradient estimates of the Li–Yau type for positive solutions of porous medium equations on Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded from below. As applications, several parabolic Harnack inequalities are obtained. In particular, our results improve the ones of Lu, Ni, Vázquez, and Villani (in J. Math. Pures Appl. 91:1–19, 2009). Moreover, our results recover the ones of Davies (in Cambridge Tracts Math vol. 92, 1989), Hamilton (in Comm. Anal. Geom. 1:113–125, 1993) and Li and Xu (in Adv. Math. 226:4456–4491, 2011).
