Abstract:Sepsis is a life-threatening complication caused by the abnormal response, which is the main cause of death in burns. Severe immunosuppression from burn injury is significantly associated with increased nosocomial infection and mortality. The main pathophysiological features of immunosuppression in severe burns are the increase in the number and function of innate immune cells and the decrease in that of adaptive immune cells. Because the specific role and inhibition mechanism of the immune cell subtype is still unclear, it is difficult to reverse the immunosuppression, which cannot effectively control the occurrence of infection and sepsis. Drawing on the remarkable achievements of immunotherapy in cancer, the research on the pathological mechanism of immune cells and the target of immunotherapy in severe burn with sepsis is of great value. Therefore, the author specially wrote this article to elaborate on the current situation and challenges of immune cell abnormalities and immunotherapy, and to look forward to the prospects and directions of the research on the immunosuppression of burn with sepsis based on the background of multi-omics and big data research. This article provides a theoretical basis for further improving the anti-infection therapeutic effect of burn sepsis patients.
