Abstract:The pollution of petroleum plastics on environment is becoming more and more serious. In order to solve this problem, we have prepared a biodegradable composite film using corn starch carbamate, cellulose nanofibers (CNF) and lignosulfonate via a simple solution casting method. The morphology and nanostructure of the as obtained composite film were examined by SEM, FTIR, XRD and TG. The results indicate that the degree of substitution (DS) of starch carbamate was increased by increasing the concentration of urea. The mechanical properties, UV resistance, water resistance and thermal stability of the composite film were significantly improved by increasing the degree of substitution starch carbamate. When DS= 0.14, the resulting composite film had better mechanical properties (elongation at break: 118%), UV-blocking ability, water vapor barrier ability and thermal stability compared to starch carbamates of composite films with other DS. The carbamate starch-based composite film provides a new way to design degradable packaging materials with greatly improved flexible packaging materials
