Abstract:In this letter, we indicate that the conditions in Lemma 2 in Yu et al. (2014) are not sufficient. To correct the mistake, a new version is given, which provides a sufficient and necessary condition in the sense of Caputo’s fractional derivation to verify the monotonicity of the addressed function. Furthermore, a new fractional-order differential inequality is derived, which shows that the main results in Yu et al. (2014) are still true although Lemma 2 has to be modified.

Sufficient conditions are derived in the sense of Caputo’s fractional derivation and by combining a fractional-order differential inequality. Abstract:This paper investigates the asymptotic stability and synchronization of fractional-order (FO) memristive neural networks with time delays. Based on the FO comparison principle and inverse Laplace transform method, the novel sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of a FO nonlinear system are given. Then, based on the above conclusions, the sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability and synchronization of FO memristive neural networks with time delays are investigated. The results in this paper have a wider coverage of situations and are more practical than the previous related results. Finally, the validity of the results is checked by two examples.

Abstract:This paper addresses the synchronization issue for the drive-response fractional-order memristor‐based neural networks (FOMNNs) via state feedback control. To achieve the synchronization for considered drive-response FOMNNs, two feedback controllers are introduced. Then, by adopting nonsmooth analysis, fractional Lyapunov’s direct method, Young inequality, and fractional-order differential inclusions, several algebraic sufficient criteria are obtained for guaranteeing the synchronization of the drive-response FOMNNs. Lastly, for illustrating the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results, an example is given.

Abstract:In this paper, the problem of the finite-time synchronization is addressed for a kind of fractional-order memristive neural networks (FMNNs). First, a new power law inequality with fractional-order and two finite-time fractional differential inequalities are established by means of L'Hospital rule, Laplace transform, and reduction to absurdity, which greatly extend some existing results. In addition, unlike the traditional maximum absolute value-based method to propose memristive synaptic weights, by introducing some transformations, FMNNs are translated to a type of fractional-order systems with uncertain parameters. Furthermore, the finite-time synchronization of FMNNs is investigated by designing a discontinuous control scheme and several criteria are derived based on the developed fractional inequalities and M-matrix theory. Note that in addition to the traditional Lyapunov function with absolute value form, a more general Lyapunov function is constructed to deal with the finite-time synchronization, which makes the derived criteria more flexible and less conservative. Lastly, the derived theoretical results are verified via numerical simulations.

Abstract:The asymptotic stability and synchronization of fractional delayed memristive neural networks with algebraic constraints in Riemann–Liouville sense will be investigated in this article. First, algebraic constraints are introduced for the first time into the existing fractional delayed memristive neural networks, and a new fractional singular delayed memristive neural networks (FSDMNNs) model is presented. Then, within the framework of Filippov’s solution, a less conservative result for the asymptotic stability of FSDMNNs is obtained by Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional. Subsequently, the appropriate feedback scheme and adaptive scheme are designed to synchronize FSDMNNs and two sufficient conditions are acquired. In addition, the results not only address the influence of delays and algebraic constraints, but can also easily detect and synchronize the actual memristive neural networks. Finally, numerical simulations frankly confirm the correctness and validity of the derived results.

Abstract:A new dynamic system, the fractional-order Hopfield neural networks with parameter uncertainties based on memristor are investigated in this paper. Through constructing a suitable Lyapunov function and some sufficient conditions are established to realize the robust synchronization of such system with discontinuous right-hand based on fractional-order Lyapunov direct method. Skillfully, the closure arithmetic is employed to handle the error system and the robust synchronization is achieved by analyzing the Mittag-Leffler stability. At last, two numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results. The first mainly shows the chaos of the system, and the other one mainly shows the results of robust synchronization.

Abstract:In this note, an effort is put forward to make two revisions with respect to mistakes in the derivations of Khan et al. (2019). The main result of Khan et al. (2019) claimed that the Laplacian matrix L is a symmetric matrix. However, the paper only assumed that the jointly connected graph contains a spanning tree. Clearly, L is a symmetric matrix if and only if the joint graph is strongly connected. Hence, the basic Assumption needs to be revised. Also, some equations need to be modified without treating L as a symmetric matrix. This revision will affect the stability conditions of switching topologies, which leading thereby to redesign the parameters lambda and mu appeared in Theorem 4.1 (Khan et al., 2019). In addition, there is a mistake when the authors designing real reference systems. The output matrix C = [C-v, 0] should be C = [root NCv, 0], otherwise the follower systems will track a wrong trajectory pattern. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:This paper investigates the exponential synchronization of a general class of memristor-based recurrent neural networks with variable delay. Then, by using stability theory of Lyapunov functionals and linear matrix inequalities, the simple feedback controller is designed to achieve synchronization between the master neural network and slave neural network and the exponential convergence rate is given by the algebraic equation. The new sufficient condition for the synchronization controller is given in term of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). Two examples are given to verify our results.

Abstract:To construct a nonlinear fractional-order neural network reflecting the complex environment of the real world, this paper considers the common factors such as uncertainties, perturbations, and delays that affect the stability of the network system. In particular, not only does the activation function include multiple time delays, but the memristive connection weights also consider transmission delays. Stemming from the characteristics of neural networks, two different types of discontinuous controllers with state information and sign functions are devised to effectuate network synchronization objectives. Combining the finite-time convergence criterion and the theory of fractional-order calculus, Mittag-Leffler synchronization conditions for fractional-order multi-delayed memristive neural networks (FMMNNs) are derived, and the upper bound of the setting time can be confirmed. Unlike previous jobs, this article focuses on applying different inequality techniques in the synchronous analysis process, rather than comparison principles to manage the multi-delay effects. In addition, this study removes the restrictive requirement that the activation function has a zero value at the switching jumps, and the discontinuous control protocol in this paper makes the networks achieve synchronization over a finite time, with some advantages in terms of the convergence speed.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the problem of finite-time synchronization of a class of fractional-order memristor-based neural networks (FMNNs) with time delays and investigated it potentially. By using Laplace transform, the generalized Gronwall's inequality, Mittag-Leffler functions and linear feedback control technique, some new sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the finite-time synchronization of addressing FMNNs with fractional order α:1<α<2 and 0<α<1. The results from the theory of fractional-order differential equations with discontinuous right-hand sides are used to investigate the problem under consideration. The derived results are extended to some previous related works on memristor-based neural networks. Finally, three numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness of our proposed theoretical results.

Abstract:The stability and synchronization problems are addressed in this study for the memristor-based fractional-order fuzzy cellular neural networks with multiple delays. By using the Laplace transform method, fractional-order calculus approach and the method of complex function, three exponential stability criteria are derived. Compared with the existing results of the above system, the novel exponentially stable and synchronization conditions are first proposed. The obtained results can be applied not only to fractional-order systems, but also to integer-order systems. A two-dimension example and a three-dimension example and a practical example are given to illustrate the validity and merits.

Abstract:Global asymptotic stability and synchronization of a class of fractional-order memristor-based delayed neural networks are investigated. For such problems in integer-order systems, Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is usually constructed, whereas similar method has not been well developed for fractional-order nonlinear delayed systems. Abstract:This work realizes lag quasi-synchronization of incommensurate fractional-order memristor-based neural networks (FMNNs) with nonidentical characteristics via quantized control. The motivations behind this research work are threefold: (1) quantized controllers, which generate discrete control signals, can be more easily realized in computers than non-quantized controllers, and can consume smaller communication capacity; (2) incommensurate orders in a single FMNN and nonidentical characteristics in drive-response FMNNs are inescapable due to the differences among the circuit elements used to implement FMNNs; (3) convergence analysis of delayed incommensurate fractional-order nonlinear systems, which is the basis for the derivation of synchronization criterion, has not been handled perfectly. As an effective tool for convergence analysis of delayed incommensurate fractional-order nonlinear systems, especially for estimation of ultimate state bound, a vector fractional Halanay inequality is established at first. Then, a quantized synchronization controller, in which the dead-zone is introduced into some logarithmic quantizers to avoid chattering phenomenon, is designed. By means of vector Lyapunov function together with the newly derived vector fractional Halanay inequality, the synchronization criterion is proved theoretically. Lastly, numerical simulations supplementarily illustrate the correctness of the synchronization criterion. Abstract:Abstract Considering the fact that the exponential synchronization of neural networks has been widely used in theoretical research and practical application of many scientific fields, and there are a few researches about the exponential synchronization of fractional-order memristor-based neural networks (FMNN). This paper concentrates on the FMNN with time-varying delays and investigates its exponential synchronization. A simple linear error feedback controller is applied to compel the response system to synchronize with the drive system. Combining the theories of differential inclusions and set valued maps, a new sufficient condition concerning exponential synchronization is obtained based on comparison principle rather than the traditional Lyapunov theory. The obtained results extend exponential synchronization of integer-order system to fractional-order memristor-based neural networks with time-varying delays. Finally, some numerical examples are used to demonstrate the effectiveness and correctness of the main results.
