Abstract:The Apéry polynomials are given byAn(x)=∑k=0n(nk)2(n+kk)2xk(n=0,1,2,…). (Those An=An(1) are Apéry numbers.) Let p be an odd prime. We show that∑k=0p−1(−1)kAk(x)≡∑k=0p−1(2kk)316kxk(modp2), and that∑k=0p−1Ak(x)≡(xp)∑k=0p−1(4kk,k,k,k)(256x)k(modp) for any p-adic integer x≢0(modp). This enables us to determine explicitly ∑k=0p−1(±1)kAkmodp, and ∑k=0p−1(−1)kAkmodp2 in the case p≡2(mod3). Another consequence states that∑k=0p−1(−1)kAk(−2)≡{4x2−2p(modp2)if p=x2+4y2(x,y∈Z),0(modp2)if p≡3(mod4). We also prove that for any prime p>3 we have∑k=0p−1(2k+1)Ak≡p+76p4Bp−3(modp5) where B0,B1,B2,… are Bernoulli numbers.

Abstract:Let $\{A'_n\}$ be the Apéry numbers given by $A'_n=\sum_{k=0}^n\binom nk^2\binom{n+k}k.$ For any prime $p\equiv 3\pmod 4$ we show that $A'_{\frac{p-1}2}\equiv \frac{p^2}3\binom{\frac{p-3}2}{\frac{p-3}4}^{-2}\pmod {p^3}$. Let $\{t_n\}$ be given by $$t_0=1,\ t_1=5\quad\hbox{and}\quad t_{n+1}=(8n^2+12n+5)t_n-4n^2(2n+1)^2t_{n-1}\ (n\ge 1).$$ We also obtain the congruences for $t_p\pmod {p^3},\ t_{p-1}\pmod {p^2}$ and $t_{\frac{p-1}2}\pmod {p^2}$, where $p$ is an odd prime.

Abstract:In this paper we establish some congruences involving the Apu0027ery numbers $beta_{n}=sum_{k=0}^{n}binom{n}{k}^2binom{n+k}{k}$ $(n=0,1,2,ldots)$. For example, we show that $$sum_{k=0}^{n-1}(11k^2+13k+4)beta_kequiv0pmod{2n^2}$$ for any positive integer $n$, and $$sum_{k=0}^{p-1}(11k^2+13k+4)beta_kequiv 4p^2+4p^7B_{p-5}pmod{p^8}$$ for any prime $pu003e3$, where $B_{p-5}$ is the $(p-5)$th Bernoulli number. We also present certain relations between congruence properties of the two kinds of Au0027pery numbers, $beta_n$ and $A_n=sum_{k=0}^nbinom nk^2binom{n+k}k^2$.

In this paper, we obtain an unexpected congruence for distinct odd primes [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and positive integers [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and the necessary and sufficient condition for [Formula: see text] Finally, we raise a conjecture that for [Formula: see text] and odd prime power [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] However, we fail to prove it even for [Formula: see text] with three distinct prime factors.

Abstract:Let $p$ be an odd prime, and let $a$ be a rational $p$-adic integer with $a\not\equiv 0\pmod p$. In this paper, using WZ method we establish the congruences for $\sum_{k=0}^{p-1} \binom ak^2(-1)^k(1-\frac 2ak)$ modulo $p^2$ and $\sum_{k=0}^{p-1} \binom ak^r(1-\frac 2ak)^s$ modulo $p^4$, where $r\in\{3,4\}$ and $s\in\{1,3\}$.

Abstract:It is known that∑k=0∞(2kk)(2k+1)4k=π2and∑k=0∞(2kk)(2k+1)16k=π3. In this paper we obtain their p-adic analogues such as∑p/23 is a prime and E0,E1,E2,… are Euler numbers. Besides these, we also deduce some other congruences related to central binomial coefficients. In addition, we pose some conjectures one of which states that for any odd prime p we have∑k=0p−1(2kk)3≡{4x2−2p(modp2)if(p7)=1&p=x2+7y2(x,y∈Z),0(modp2)if(p7)=−1,i.e.,p≡3,5,6(mod7).

Abstract:Let p>3 be a prime. For any p-adic integer a, we determine ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k, ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k^(2), ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k^(2)/2k+1 modulo p^2, where H_k=∑_0<j≤ k1/j and H_k^(2)=∑_0<j≤ k1/j^2. In particular, we show that ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k≡(-1)^⟨ a⟩_p 2(B_p-1(a)-B_p-1) p, ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k^(2)≡ -E_p-3(a) p, (2a-1)∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k^(2)/2k+1≡ B_p-2(a) p, where ⟨ a⟩_p stands for the least nonnegative integer r with a≡ rp, and B_n(x) and E_n(x) denote the Bernoulli polynomial of degree n and the Euler polynomial of degree n respectively. Abstract:Let p be an odd prime. In this paper, analogs of Wilson?s and Wolstenholme?s theorems on the solution sets S+ = {n ? Z* p | n ? a + b ? ab (mod p)} and S? = {n ? Abstract:Recently, using modular forms F. Beukers posed a unified method that can deal with a large number of supercongruences involving binomial coefficients and Apéry-like numbers. Abstract:Zhao (2003a) first established a congruence for any odd prime p>3, S(1,1,1;p)≡−2Bp−3 (mod p), which holds when p=3 evidently. In this paper, we consider finite triple harmonic sum S(α,β,γ,p) (mod p) is considered for all positive integers α,β,γ. We refer to w=α+β+γ as the weight of the sum, and show that if w is even, S(α,β,γ,p)≡0 (mod p) for p≥w+3; if w is odd S(α,γ,γ,p)≡rBp−w (mod p) for p≥w, here r is an explicit rational number independent of p. A congruence of Catalan number is obtained as a special case.

Abstract:Define g_n(x)=∑ _k=0^n( [ n; k ]) ^2( [ 2k; k ]) x^k for n=0,1,2,… . Those numbers g_n=g_n(1) are closely related to Apéry numbers and Franel numbers. In this paper we establish some fundamental congruences involving g_n(x) . For example, for any prime p>5 we have ∑ _k=1^p-1g_k(-1)/k≡ 0p^2 and ∑ _k=1^p-1g_k(-1)/k^2≡ 0 p. This is similar to Wolstenholme’s classical congruences ∑ _k=1^p-11/k≡ 0p^2 and ∑ _k=1^p-11/k^2≡ 0 p for any prime p>3 .
