Abstract:Objective: This article explores the effect of miR-503-5p on inhibiting the formation of alveolar bone during orthodontic tooth movement by negatively regulating osteogenesis-related factors in alveolar bone tissue. Methods: The research objects were 54 rats. A spring was installed on each rat's maxillary first molars to create a rat orthodontic traction tooth movement model. The rats were randomly divided into observation and control groups, and the observation group was overexpressed with miR-503-5p to detect osteogenic factors. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP), osteogenic transcription factor 2 (Runx2) and osteogenic protein expression levels, and the changes in periodontal tissue morphology and bone formation speed were observed during tooth movement. Results: The study showed that the overexpression of miR-503-5p during orthodontic tooth movement can reduce the expression of ALP in rat alveolar bone by 18.7%, the expression of Runx2 by 22.6%, and the expression of osteogenic protein by 26.3%. At the same time, the rate of alveolar bone formation is reduced. Conclusion: miR-503-5p can effectively inhibit the formation of alveolar bone during orthodontic tooth movement by negatively regulating the expression of osteogenesis-related factors in alveolar bone tissue.
