Abstract:In this paper, we review some recent works on sharp fractional inequalities on nilpotent Lie groups, studying their sharp constants, extremizers, stability and other improvements. We also prove a new sharp subcritical inequality in Section sub . The conformal symmetry, compactness, spectral estimates and flow methods are discussed. We remark that a positivity-type restriction on the singular exponent is required in cases for groups with high dimensional centres, which brings extra difficulty.

Abstract:The aim of this note is twofold. Firstly, we prove an abstract version of the Calderón transference principle for inequalities of admissible type in the general commutative multilinear and multiparameter setting. Such an operation does not increase the constants in the transferred inequalities. Secondly, we use the last information to study a certain dichotomy arising in problems of finding the best constants in the weak type $(1,1)$ and strong type $(p,p)$ inequalities for one-parameter ergodic maximal operators.

Abstract:Let $K_n=(V,E)$ be the complete graph with $n\geq 3$ vertices (here $V$ and $E$ denote the set of vertices and edges of $K_n$ respectively). We find the optimal value ${\bf{C}}_{n,p}$ such that the inequality $$\|f-m_f\|_p\le {\bf C}_{n,p}{\rm Var}_{p}f$$ holds for every $f:V\to \mathbb{R},$ where ${\rm Var}_p$ stands for the $p$-variation, and $m_f$ stands for the average value of $f$, for all $p\in[1,3+\delta^1_n)\cup (3+\delta^2_n,+\infty)$, for $\delta^1_n=\frac{1}{2n^2\log(n)}+O(1/n^3)$ and $\delta^2_n=\frac{2}{n}+O(1/n^2).$ Moreover, we characterize all the maximizer functions in that case. The behavior of the maximizers is different in each of the intervals $(1,2)$, $(2,3+\delta^{1}_n)$ and $(3+\delta^{2}_n,\infty).$

Abstract:On a convex bounded open set, we prove that Poincaré-Sobolev constants for functions vanishing at the boundary can be bounded from below in terms of the norm of the distance function in a suitable Lebesgue space. This generalizes a result shown, in the planar case, by E. Makai, for the torsional rigidity. In addition, we compare the sharp Makai constants obtained in the class of convex sets with the optimal constants defined in other classes of open sets. Finally, an alternative proof of the Hersch-Protter inequality for convex sets is given.

Abstract:There is a well known inequality for harmonic functions in unit disc by Carleman: $\int_{B_{2}}e^{2u}dx\leq\frac{1}{4\pi}(\int_{\partial B_{2}}e^{u}d\theta)^{2},$ for all harmonic functions in $B_{2}$. We generalize this inequality to the case of fractional harmonic extension operator $\widetilde{P}_{a}$, which says that for any $f\in L^{\frac{2(n-1)}{n-2+a}}(\partial B_{n}),$ $n\geq 2$ and $n-2+a\neq 0$, we have the sharp inequality $\|\widetilde{P}_{a}f\|_{L^{\frac{2n}{n-2+a}}(B_{n})}\leq S_{n,a}\|f\|_{L^{\frac{2(n-1)}{n-2+a}}(\partial B_{n})}.$ By studying the endpoint information we get an interesting inequality $\|e^{\widetilde{P}_{2-n}F}\|_{L^{n}( B_{n})}\leq S_{n} \|e^{F}\|_{L^{n-1}(\partial B_{n})},$ for any $F$ such that $e^{F}\in L^{n-1}(\partial B_{n})$, $n\geq 2.$ When $n=2$, Carleman's inequality is recovered.

Abstract:We are interested in finding sharp bounds for the Cheeger constant $h$ via different geometrical quantities, namely the area $|\cdot|$, the perimeter $P$, the inradius $r$, the circumradius $R$, the minimal width $\omega$ and the diameter $d$. We provide new sharp inequalities between these quantities for planar convex bodies and enounce new conjectures based on numerical simulations. In particular, we completely solve the Blaschke-Santal\'o diagrams describing all the possible inequalities involving the triplets $(P,h,r)$, $(d,h,r)$ and $(R,h,r)$ and describe some parts of the boundaries of the diagrams of the triplets $(\omega,h,d)$, $(\omega,h,R)$, $(\omega,h,P)$, $(\omega,h,|\cdot|)$, $(R,h,d)$ and $(\omega,h,r)$.

A Sharp Inequality of Hardy-Littlewood Type Via Derivatives

Abstract: In this paper we consider a generalized version of Carleman's inequality. An equivalent version of it states that $\|f\|_{A_\alpha^{2\alpha}}\leq\|f\|_{H^2}$, where $f$ is a holomorphic function and $\alpha>1$. If the norms $\|f\|_{A_\alpha^{2\alpha}}$ are decreasing in $\alpha$, then the inequality holds for $f$. For a dense set of functions, we calculate the derivative of the norms $\|f\|_{A_\alpha^{2\alpha}}$ in $\alpha$ and give sufficient conditions for this derivative to be non-positive. As an application, we prove the inequality for linear combinations of two reproducing kernels. Some numerical evidences are also provided.

Abstract:We consider conic inequality systems of the type$F(x)\ge_K 0$, with approximate solution $x_0$ associated to a parameter $\tau$,where $F$ is a twice Fréchet differentiable function between Hilbert spaces $X$ and $Y$, and$\ge_K$ is the partial order in $Y$ defined by anonempty convex (not necessarily closed) cone $K\subseteq Y$.We prove that, under the suitable conditions,the system $F(x)\ge_K 0$is solvable, and the ratio of the distance from $x_0$ to the solution set $S$ over the distance from $F(x_0)$ to the cone $K$ has anupper bound given explicitlyin terms of $\tau$ and $x_0$. We show that the upper bound is sharp.Applications to analytic function inequality/equality systems on Euclidean spaces are given,and the corresponding results of Dedieu [ SIAM J. Optim. , 11 (2000), pp. 411--425] are extended and significantly improved.

Abstract:In this paper it is shown that a new Hardy-Hilbert type integral inequality can be established by introducing a proper integral kernel function, and that the constant factor is proved to be the best possible. In particular, for case p = 2, a new Hilbert type integral inequality is given .And as the mathematics aesthetics, several important constants π and Euler number En appear simultaneously in the coefficient. Abstract:We determine the sharp constants for the fractional Sobolev inequalities associated with the conformally invariant fractional powers $\mathcal{L}_{s}(0<s<1)$ of the sublaplacian on H-type groups. From these inequalities we derive a sharp log-Sobolev inequality by considering a limiting case and a sharp Sobolev trace inequality. The later extends to this context the result of Frank, González, Monticelli and Tan (Adv. Math, 2015).

Abstract:Opial's inequality and its ramifications play an important role in the theory of differential and difference equations. A sharp unifying generalization of Opial's inequality is presented that contains both its continuous and discrete version. This generalization based on distribution functions is extended to the case of derivatives of arbitrary order. This extension optimizes and improves the constant as given in the literature. The special case of derivatives of second order is studied in more detail. Two closely related Opial inequalities with a weight function are presented as well. The associated Wirtinger inequality is studied briefly.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain the sharp $k$-th order Sobolev inequalities in the hyperbolic space ${\H}^n$ for all $k=1,2,3,\cdots$. This gives an answer to an open question raised by Aubin in [5, p.$\;$176-177] for $W^{k,2}({\H}^n)$ with $k>1$. In addition, we prove that the associated Sobolev constants are optimal.
