Abstract:Vascular network system is of great significance for the maintenance of body health and the development of in vitro tissue engineering. Angiogenesis is the process by which new vessel sprouts are created from existing blood vessels and gradually grow to form a vascular network, which is a common phenomena in pathological conditions, such as wound healing and tumor spread. Studies have shown that angiogenesis will be affected by many factors, such as chemical concentration and fibrin concentration, which will induce the growth behavior of vascular sprouts and ultimately lead to the difference of vascular network morphology. In vitro and in vivo experiments are difficult to explore the relationship between these influencing factors and vascular growth, so it is difficult to explain the mechanism that this process follows. As an important means to study the occurrence principle of biological phenomena, mathematical model can couple many related physical components into one system to study the influence relationship between them. Many biochemical factors have been coupled in the vascular mathematical models of vascular growth. In recent years, some experiments have proved that interstitial flow plays an important role in the process of vascular growth, but there are few models taking it into consider to carry out further exploration. In our paper, we proposed a vascular mathematical model including interstitial flow and restore the vascular growth process during induce factors. The important features of angiogenesis are captured and the influence relationship among factors and vascular network are discussed. The comparison between our simulation and other experiments conclusion verify the validity of our model. Based on our thought, the flow-contained vascular mathematical model can be further coupled with more physical elements to create a more realistic mathematic explain to vascular growth.
