Abstract:Underwater docking is a crucial technology for supplementing energy and swapping data of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). A docking platform requires a considerable base to ensure a safe docking height when the original docking mode is utilized in uncharted deep-sea areas. If the AUVs are too close to the seabed, a part of the detection system fails. Therefore, guaranteeing and adjusting the attitude of the docking device is difficult once it is deployed underwater. To solve this problem, a deep-sea single-point mooring levitation docking system with environmental adaptation and no propellers is designed. Analyzing whether the motion state of the docking device aligns with the docking premise is necessary. The mathematical model of the docking system is established according to the Newton–Euler dynamics theory and centralized-mass method and is used for simulation. Finally, a towing test of the docking device is performed to validate the calculation results obtained using the two methods. The results are highly correlated, with an error rate of approximately 10%. In addition, this study analyzes the relationship among the size of the wing, length of the towing cable, position of the hinge point, and its motion state.
