Abstract:•This paper proposes a new method for evaluating the importance of power information network nodes to prevent better power grid cascading failures.•This method based on link-based community division and Betweenness Centrality Based on Neighbor Nodes algorithm, and will accurately divide the nodes in the network.•This paper has conducted experiments on the standard IEEE system and improved system and the results can identify the traditional important nodes in the power grid simultaneously.
