Abstract:Existing research has proved the pathophysiological effects of ferroptosis on tumor development and progression, as well as the mediation and treatment of PCa, but its effects on the potential prognosis for prostate cancer still require in-depth exploration. In the research, we constructed a risk model of four ferroptosis-related genes. After the evaluation and calculation of this model, higher risk scores indicated higher probability for biochemical recurrence, lower immune infiltration, as well as worse clinicopathological features. In order to derive more scientific and persuasive predictions for biochemical recurrence of patients having PCa, the findings of the current work were established and verified in TCGA and GEO. In addition, by studying the four genes in the model, MAPK9 gene was found to be an important component, so its effect on ferroptosis was further studied through in vivo and in vitro experiments, and its effect on tumor migration and proliferation was further evaluated and verified.
