Progress in the protective effect and mechanism of arginine on lung injury

Abstract:Acute lung injury has a high morbidity and high mortality, but there is no clinically specially effective treatment for acute lung injury, so how to prevent and treat acute lung injury is still important for current research subjects. Arginine is a nitrogen carrier which is necessary for the synthesis of urea, polyamines, proline, and other proteins in healthy adults. It has immunomodulatory activity and can reduce inflammation. Studies have shown that arginine prevents or treats lung injury by producing a large amount of nitric oxide, etc. or producing immune effects. In order to understand the current research status of applying arginine in the treatment of lung injury, this article focuses on the protective effect of arginine on lung injury, and provides new ideas for clinical treatment of lung injury.
