The Development Vein and Frontier Hot Spot of Marine Industry Research -- A Quantitative Empirical Study of Chinese and Foreign Literature Based on CNKI and WOS

Abstract:Although China's marine industry has made great progress under the promotion of the "Belt and Road" initiative, the deep-sea strategy, and the strategy of marine power. However, there are still shortcomings with unreasonable industrial structure and insufficient innovation capabilities in the field. Therefore, compared with the current status of the research on the marine industry at home and abroad, it is necessary to provide a reference for the optimization of the development path of the marine industry at the forefront and hotspots at home and abroad. [Research methods] This article adopts the bibliometrics method, with the help of the theme search method, 769 and 946 relevant literature were retrieved from WOS and CNKI databases, and the data were analyzed visually and quantitatively from the publishing trend, authors and institutions, keyword topics and highly cited literature in the field of the marine industry. [Conclusion]The amount of literature was affected by policies, environment, and human behavior. Since 2008, the gap between chinese and foreign literature has gradually opened up, and the number of chinese and foreign literature peaked in 2013 and 2020 respectively. The number of publications, citation frequency, and author cooperation intensity of chinese authors is higher than those of international authors, but there is room for improvement in institutional cooperation intensity. Both at home and abroad focus on the theoretical construction of marine industry development, the sustainable development, and optimization of the marine industry, as well as the development and utilization of marine resources. However, there are many international research achievements in the field of Marine science and technology development. Developing green emerging industries, promoting industrial upgrading, providing policies, funds, and talent support to promote technological innovation, rational use of marine resources, and sustainable development capabilities are conducive to the high-quality development of the marine industry.
