Abstract:The qualitative and quantitative composition of terpenoids and phenols from methanol extracts of G. lucidum (reishi) and G. applanatum has been studied. G. applanatum showed the presence of terpenoids with anticancer activity, identical to the reishi terpenoids, but in much smaller quantities. The total content of phenols did not differ in studied species, flavonoids were found in trace amounts. Among the phenolic compounds the main identified substances were protocatechuic and 3-hydroxybenzoic acids. Epigallocatechin and other compounds were also found in trace amounts. The total content of the identified phenols in G. applanatum was higher than in G. lucidum. The antioxidant activity of both species did not differ significantly and was comparable with or exceeded the activity of rutin and gallic acid. This makes further research and development of biologically active substances based on G. applanatum promising.
