Abstract:The purpose of this work is to study the solvability of the following biharmonic Choquard equation: (1) Δ2u−Δu+V(x)u=[|x|−μ∗(K(x)F(x,u))]K(x)f(x,u),x∈R4, (1) where the functions V and K may decay to zero at infinity like (1+|x|α)−1 , with α∈(0,4) , and (1+|x|β)−1 , with β>(8−μ)α/8 , respectively, μ∈(0,4) , f is a continuous function that behaves like eγ0s2 at infinity, for some γ0>0 and F is the primitive of f . By establishing a weighted version of the Adams inequality involving V and K , we investigate the existence of nontrivial solution for problem ( Equation 1 (1) Δ2u−Δu+V(x)u=[|x|−μ∗(K(x)F(x,u))]K(x)f(x,u),x∈R4, (1) ). Furthermore, we establish that the nontrivial solution is a bound state when α∈(0,2) .

By using a minimax principle and analyzing the behavior of the ground state energy with respect to the prescribed mass, we obtain the existence of ground state solutions for the above problem.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the following N -Laplace Choquard equation where , , is the N-Laplace operator, is a positive parameter, V is a differentiable potential, F is the primitive of f with critical exponential growth in the sense of Trudinger–Moser. To address the challenges stemming from the presence of an exponential growth given by f and the quasilinear nature of the equation, we conduct meticulous analyses. This enables us to establish an intricate threshold for the Mountain-Pass minimax level and demonstrate the presence and concentration of semiclassical ground state solutions for the equation in question.

Abstract:In this paper, we are paid attention to the following logarithmic Choquard equation −Δu+u=[I2∗F(u)]f(u),x∈R2, where I2=12πln⁡1|x| is the Newtonian kernel in dimension 2, F(u)=∫0uf(t)dt and f∈C1(R,R) is critical exponential growth with respect to Trudinger–Moser. Based on a variational framework proposed in Liu et al. (J Differ Equ 2022;328), we obtain a positive finite energy solution of the above logarithmic Choquard equation via the variational methods. Furthermore, we use another approach to investigate the planar logarithmic Choquard equations involving critical exponential growth.

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the existence of solutions for the Choquard equation $$\begin{aligned} \textstyle\begin{cases} {-}\Delta {u}+V(x)u=(I_{\alpha }* \vert u \vert ^{\frac{\alpha }{N}+1}) \vert u \vert ^{ \frac{\alpha }{N}-1}u+\lambda \vert u \vert ^{p-2}u,\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^{N}; \\ u\in H^{1}(\mathbb{R}^{N}), \end{cases}\displaystyle \end{aligned}$$ where $\lambda >0$ is a parameter, $\alpha \in (0,N)$ , $N\ge 3$ , $I_{\alpha }: \mathbb{R}^{N}\to \mathbb{R}$ is the Riesz potential. As usual, $\alpha /N+1$ is the lower critical exponent in the Hardy–Littlewood–Sobolev inequality. Under some weak assumptions, by using minimax methods and Pohožaev identity, we prove that this problem admits a ground state solution if $\lambda >\lambda _{*}$ for some given number $\lambda _{*}$ in three cases: (i) $2< p<\frac{4}{N}+2$ , (ii) $p=\frac{4}{N}+2$ , and (iii) $\frac{4}{N}+2< p<2^{*}$ . Our result improves the previous related ones in the literature.

Abstract:In this paper we study quasilinear elliptic equations driven by the double phase operator involving a Choquard term of the form −Lp,qa(u)+|u|p−2u+a(x)|u|q−2u=∫RNF(y,u)|x−y|μdyf(x,u)inRN, where Lp,qa is the double phase operator given by Lp,qa(u)≔div(|∇u|p−2∇u+a(x)|∇u|q−2∇u),u∈W1,H(RN), 0<μ , 1 , p , 0≤a(⋅)∈C0,α(RN) with α∈(0,1] and f:RN×R→R is a continuous function that satisfies a subcritical growth. Based on the Hardy–Littlewood–Sobolev inequality, the Nehari manifold and variational tools, we prove the existence of ground state solutions of such problems under different assumptions on the data.

Abstract:In this paper, we study asymptotic behavior of positive ground state solutions for the nonlinear Choquard equation: \begin{equation}\label{0.1} -\Delta u+\varepsilon u=\big(I_{\alpha}\ast F(u)\big)F'(u),\quad u\in H^1(\mathbb R^N), \end{equation} where $F(u)=|u|^{\frac{N+\alpha}{N-2}}+G(u)$, $N\geq3$ is an integer, $I_{\alpha}$ is the Riesz potential of order $\alpha\in(0,N)$, and $\varepsilon>0$ is a parameter. Under some mild subcritical growth assumptions on $G(u)$, we show that as $\varepsilon \to \infty$, the ground state solutions of \eqref{0.1}, after a suitable rescaling, converge to a particular solution of the critical Choquard equation $-\Delta u=\frac{N+\alpha}{N-2}(I_{\alpha}*|u|^{\frac{N+\alpha}{N-2}})|u|^{\frac{N+\alpha}{N-2}-2}u$. We establish a novel sharp asymptotic characterisation of such a rescaling, which depends in a non-trivial way on the asymptotic behavior of $G(u)$ at infinity and the space dimension $N=3$, $N=4$ or $N\geq5$.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is three-fold. First, we establish singular Trudinger–Moser inequalities with less restrictive constraint: where 0 < β < 2 , V ( x ) ≥ 0 and may vanish on an open set in R 2 . Second, we consider the existence of ground states to the following Schrödinger equations with critical exponential growth in R 2 : where the nonlinearity f has the critical exponential growth. In order to overcome the lack of compactness, we develop a method which is based on the threshold of the least energy, an embedding theorem introduced in (C. Zhang and L. Chen, "Concentration-compactness principle of singular Trudinger-Moser inequalities in R n and n -Laplace equations," Adv. Nonlinear Stud. , vol. 18, no. 3, pp. 567–585, 2018) and the Nehari manifold to get the existence of ground states. Abstract:We study the non-existence and multiplicity of positive solutions of the nonlinear Choquard type equation $$ -\Delta u+ \varepsilon u=(I_\alpha \ast |u|^{p})|u|^{p-2}u+ |u|^{q-2}u, \quad {\rm in} \ \mathbb R^N, \qquad (P_\varepsilon)$$ where $N\ge 3$ is an integer, $p\in [\frac{N+\alpha}{N}, \frac{N+\alpha}{N-2}]$, $q\in (2,\frac{2N}{N-2}]$, $I_\alpha$ is the Riesz potential of order $\alpha\in (0,N)$ and $\varepsilon>0$ is a parameter. We fix one of $p,q$ as a critical exponent (in the sense of Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev and Sobolev inequalities ) and view the others in $p,q,\varepsilon, \alpha$ as parameters, we find regions in the $(p,q,\alpha, \varepsilon)$-parameter space, such that the corresponding equation has no positive ground state or admits multiple positive solutions. This is a counterpart of the Brezis-Nirenberg Conjecture (Brezis-Nirenberg, CPAM, 1983) for nonlocal elliptic equation in the whole space. Particularly, some threshold results for the existence of ground states and some conditions which insure two positive solutions are obtained. These results are quite different in nature from the corresponding local equation with combined powers nonlinearity and reveal the special influence of the nonlocal term. To the best of our knowledge, the only two papers concerning the multiplicity of positive solutions of elliptic equations with critical growth nonlinearity are given by Atkinson, Peletier (Nonlinear Anal, 1986) for elliptic equation on a ball and Juncheng Wei, Yuanze Wu (Proc. Royal Soc. Edinburgh, 2022) for elliptic equation with a combined powers nonlinearity in the whole space. The ODE technique is main ingredient in the proofs of the above mentioned papers, however, ODE technique does not work any more in our model equation due to the presence of the nonlocal term.

Abstract:In this paper, the following critical biharmonic elliptic problem \begin{eqnarray*} \begin{cases} \Delta^2u= \lambda u+\mu u\ln u^2+|u|^{2^{**}-2}u, &x\in\Omega,\\ u=\dfrac{\partial u}{\partial \nu}=0, &x\in\partial\Omega \end{cases} \end{eqnarray*} is considered, where $\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^{N}$ is a bounded smooth domain with $N\geq5$. Some interesting phenomenon occurs due to the uncertainty of the sign of the logarithmic term. It is shown, mainly by using Mountain Pass Lemma, that the problem admits at lest one nontrivial weak solution under some appropriate assumptions of $\lambda$ and $\mu$. Moreover, a nonexistence result is also obtained. Comparing the results in this paper with the known ones, one sees that some new phenomena occur when the logarithmic perturbation is introduced.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence and concentration behavior of ground state solutions for a class of Schrödinger-Poisson equation with a parameter ɛ > 0. Under some suitable conditions on the nonlinearity f and the potential V, we prove that for ε small, the equation has a ground state solution concentrating around global minimum of the potential V in the semi-classical limit. Also, the exponential decay of the ground state solutions is studied.

This study is analogous to the Choquard equation in the Euclidean space, which involves the non-local Riesz potential operator. We consider the functional setting within the Sobolev space $H^1(\mathbb{B}^N)$, employing advanced harmonic analysis techniques, particularly the Helgason Fourier transform and semigroup approach to fractional Laplacian. Moreover, the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality on complete Riemannian manifolds, as developed by Varopoulos, is pivotal in our analysis. We prove an existence result for the above problem in the subcritical case. Moreover, we also demonstrate that solutions exhibit radial symmetry, and establish the regularity properties.
