Abstract:Introduction: A large-sample study focusing on VIN lesions of a more precise thickness is needed to help guide clinical treatment. This study aimed to investigate the depth of vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) and involved skin appendages to provide evidence for laser surgery. Methods: The study retrospectively enrolled and analyzed the clinical characteristics of VIN patients in the obstetrics and gynecology department of a university hospital between January 1, 2019 and December 30, 2021. The study further explored the thickness of epithelium and skin appendages of 285 women with low-grade VIN (VIN1) and 285 women with high-grade VIN (VIN2/3). Results: The study included 1,139 (80%) VIN1 and 335 (20%) VIN2/3 cases. The VIN1 and VIN2/3 groups showed a significant difference in human papillomavirus infection (P<0.01) but not in cytology (P = 0.499). Most (89.90%, 1,325) cases occurred in one area of the vulva, whereas 10.11% were multifocal. VIN commonly occurred on the posterior fourchette (76.85%), labia majora (11.61%), and labia minora (9.92%). The VIN2/3 group reported a significantly higher positive rate for concurrent cervical and vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (160 of 285) than the VIN1 group (321 of 953) (P=0.000). The involved epithelial thicknesses in VIN2/3 and VIN1 were 0.69 ± 0.44 and 0.49 ± 0.23 mm, respectively, both of which were greater than the corresponding noninvolved epithelial thickness (0.31 ± 0.19 and 0.32 ± 0.10 mm, P<0.001 and P<0.001, respectively). In cases of appendage involvement, the VIN thickness was 1.98 ± 0.64 mm. Conclusions: VIN thickness was generally ≤1 mm for the superficial lesions in non-hairy areas. However, for lesions extending onto hairy areas, the thickness was approximately 3 mm, leading to the destruction of involved skin appendages.

A Retrospective Study of 657 Women with Vaginal Intraepithelial Neoplasia (Vain)

Abstract:Vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VaIN) is frequently underdiagnosed. The aim of this study was to explore the clinical characteristics of patients with VaIN and identify more sensitive diagnostic methods. This study retrospectively analyzed 657 patients with VaIN from the International Peace Maternal and Child Health Hospital during a ten-year period. Among the 657 patients, 26.5% were diagnosed with VaIN 2/3. The proportions of patients with VaIN 2/3 among those who did and did not undergo hysterectomy were 39.5% and 24.7%, respectively. The sensitivity of cytology testing for VaIN in those with only VaIN, VaIN concomitant with cervical or vulvar lesions, and posthysterectomy VaIN was 56.7%, 66.5%, and 72.3%, respectively. The sensitivity of high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) testing for VaIN in the same categories was 87.7%, 86.5%, and 74.3%, respectively. The sensitivity of cytology and hrHPV cotesting for VaIN in the same categories was 95.2%, 95.6%, and 95.0%, respectively. In patients with VaIN 2/3, the incidence of HPV 16/18 was 50.6%. However, in patients with VaIN 1, the incidence of HPV 16/18 was only 22.6 %. The severity of VaIN was associated with HPV genotyping and hysterectomy, but not with concomitant cervical or vulvar lesions. A combination of cytology and hrHPV could increase the sensitivity of the diagnosis of VaIN. HPV 16 and 18 are the most frequent HPV-types in VaIN 2/3. Twelve specific hrHPV subtypes were the main virus types associated with the development of VaIN 1.

Abstract:The aim of the present study was to investigate the expression of B cell-specific Moloney murine leukemia virus integration site 1 (BMI-1) in vulvar squamous cell carcinoma (VSCC) and vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN). Furthermore, the present study investigated the effects of BMI-1 expression on the biological behavior of A-431 human epidermoid carcinoma cells. BMI-1 expression in human VSCC and VIN tissues was detected using immunohistochemistry. Subsequently, BMI-1 expression was silenced in A-431 cells using small interfering RNA (siRNA), and BMI-1 expression was detected using reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blotting. The effects of BMI-1 silencing on cell proliferation, apoptosis and invasive ability were determined using an MTT assay, Annexin V-fluorescein isothiocyanate/propidium iodide double-labeling experiment and Transwell assay, respectively. The expression rate of BMI-1 in normal vulvar, VIN and VSCC tissues was 0.0, 25.0 and 68.0% respectively, demonstrating an increasing trend in the severity of the disease. BMI-1 overexpression was found not to correlate with age, pathological stage, lymph node metastasis or degree of differentiation (P>0.05). BMI-1 siRNA transfection effectively inhibited BMI-1 messenger RNA and protein expression in A-431 cells. The mean rate of apoptosis promotion and proliferation inhibition in the most effectively silenced group were 20.19 and 46.82%, respectively, which was significantly higher than that of the cells in the blank and control siRNA groups (P<0.05). The number of invading cells was decreased in the most effectively silenced group compared with that of the blank and control siRNA groups. Abnormal expression of BMI-1 was also detected in VIN and VSCC tissues, and targeting of BMI-1 with siRNA was able to successfully silence BMI-1 expression in A-431 cells. Silencing of BMI-1 promoted apoptosis and inhibited the invasive abilities of A-431 cells in vitro.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:The aim of this study is to review a cohort of cases with vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VAIN) in a Chinese tertiary centre and to analyze the relationship between VAIN and cervical neoplasm, the treatment of the disease, and the outcomes.METHODS:We retrospectively reviewed patients undergoing treatment for VAIN from January 2007 to June 2013. All the data of demographics, history, histological information, and HPV testing results were recorded. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS 10.0 software.RESULTS:The study comprised of 184 patients. 132 out of 184 cases were diagnosed with cervical cancer or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). 19 cases occurred after treatment of cervical neoplasia, and 33 patients were without any cervical lesion at the time of diagnosis. The average age of total patients was 48.30 ± 11.58. There were no significant differences in age, parity, and HPV infection among different groups. No significant differences were found in age, parity, and HPV infection between low-grade VAIN1 and high-grade VAIN (VAIN2 and VAIN3). The main treatment was electrofulguration and focal resection. The primary remission rate was 87.62 %. Four patients of VAIN1 were observed with the result of no recurrence in three cases.CONCLUSION:VAIN is a disease which has a close relationship with cervical neoplasia. Electrofulguration treatment with local resection is a suitable treatment with a much lower recurrence rate. For VAIN 1, observation may be a good choice especially for younger patients.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To detect the clinical features of vulvar and vaginal intraepithelial neoplasias (VIN and VAIN, respectively).METHODS:Total 148 women were performed vulvar or vaginal coloposcopy-directed biopsy pathology tests, from Sep. 2004 to Dec. 2007.RESULTS:Among 148 women, vulvar or vaginal histologic results were vulvar cancer for 1, VIN or VAIN 2, 3 for 23, VIN or VAIN for 16, condyloma for 61, vulvitis and vaginitis for 47. Eighty-five percent (33/39) women with VIN or VAIN 2, 3 were more than 30 years old. Compared to women with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), women with VIN or VAIN were older. The rate of high-risk HPV DNA in women with vulvar or vaginal lesions was 84% (84/100). VAIN occurred mainly in the upper vagina (90%, 69/75). VIN or VAIN often accompanied or followed CIN or cervical cancer (79%, 31/39), and VIN or VAIN 2, 3 often accompanied or followed CIN 2, 3 or cervical cancer (70%, 16/23).CONCLUSION:Our data suggest that women with high-risk HPV infection are at risk of developing VIN or VAIN 2, 3. The vulva and vagina should be carefully inspected by colposcopic examination at the time of colposcopy for any abnormal findings.

Abstract:Vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VAIN) represents a rare and asymptomatic pre-neoplastic lesion of the lower genital tract squamous cells carcinoma .Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and VAIN are caused by prevalence and distribution of human papillomavirus infection.Due to widely use of vaginal cytology and HPV test , the cases of VAIN is increasing .Surgery is considered as the most effective treatment at present .It is essential to have long-term and standard follow-up for the cases to reduce the reocurrence and improve survival rate.

Abstract:Background Vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VAIN), as a precursor of vaginal cancer, is a rare disease. Its prevalence has not been well analyzed. This research is to ascertain the risk factors for VAIN in a Chinese population.Methods A case-control study was conducted, including 63 VAIN cases and 64healthy controls. In all subjects Pap smear and HPV tests were performed. A questionnaire survey was distributed, covering information on socio-demographic characteristics, smoking, past history, reproductive and sexual histories. The clinical pathological data were collected from medical records including symptoms, Pap smear results, grade of lesions, and human papillomavirus (HPV) status.Results Postmenopausal women had a 2.09 times higher risk for VAIN than pre-menopausal women (95% Cl: 1.10-3.85; P=0.024). The patients with previous hysterectomy had an increased risk of VAIN (OR=4.69; P=0.003). Patients with a history of cervical cancer or CIN were predisposed to VAIN (OR=78.75; P <0.0001). The: rate of HPV infection in VAIN was significantly higher than in controls, and an increased risk of VAIN was observed in patients with higher viral load (OR=126.00; P=0.000). Multivariate analysis showed that HPV infection and a history of GIN or cervical cancer were still found to be significant in patients.Conclusion HPV infection and a history of CIN or cervical cancer are the main risk factors for the development of VAIN. Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To investigate the diagnosis and therapy of vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VAIN) and correlation to cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN).METHODS:The clinical and pathological data about age, liquid-based cytology, human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA test, colposcopy, histology types and treatment in 35 patients with VAIN were reviewed to investigate the diagnosis and therapy of VAIN and correlation to CIN.RESULTS:Mean age at presentation was 43.9 years. The percentage of VAINI, VAINII and VAINIII were 52% (18/35), 34% (12/35) and 14% (5/35), respectively. 8% (1/13) of patients were younger than 40 years developed VAINIII, while 18% (4/22) patients were elder than 40 years. There were 83% (29/35) cases were diagnosed from 2007 to June 2008. 69% (24/35) or 17% (6/35) cases had the history of CIN or cervical cancer, respectively. VAINII-III accounted for 3/9, 53% (8/15) and 4/6 of CINI, CINII-III and cervical cancer, respectively. There were 87% (13/15) positive high risk HPV infection in VAINI, while 100% in VAINII and VAINIII. There were 97% (33/34) cases with abnormality for liquid-based cytology and 86% (30/35) cases of lesions were located in the upper 1/3 vagina. Among 19 cases received therapy, 14 cases (74%) were treated by surgery, 2 cases (11%) by brachytherapy, 3 cases (16%) used drug on the surface of vagina and the lesions were shown recovery in 9 cases followed up.CONCLUSION:The clinical characteristics of VAIN are similar to CIN and the principles of diagnosis and treatment are also the same as that of CIN.
Clinical Analysis of 72 Cases of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplsia

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate multiple biopsies and cervical conization in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer.Methods: Two thousand and five hundred females aged 30~49 years in a high risk area for cervical cancer underwent liquid based pap smear,high risk human papilloma virus(HPV) testing(13 sub-types),visual inspection of the cervix using acetic acid(VIA) and visual inspection of the cervix using lugol's iodine(VILI).Those with positive findings in any of these four screening tests underwent digital colposcopic exam,and some had biopsies taken from 4 regions of the cervix as well as endocervical curretage.Seventy-two patients with pathological findings of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)2 or greater(including CIN2,CIN3,Carcinoma in situ(CIS) and microinvasive cancer) underwent cervical conization(the conventional first-line treatment),with final treatment(regularly scheduled follow-up or more extensive therapy) based on surgical pathology.Results: Pathological findings of the cone biopsies were correlated with that from colposcopy-directed biopsy in 39 patients(55%).In 16 patients,the diagnosis pointed to cancer;five patients increased from CIN2 to CIN3,and one increased from CIS to microinvasive cancer.Eleven patients(15%) had less findings on surgical pathology,for a total discrepancy rate of 45%.Conclusion:(1)The use of multiple biopsies should be promoted in screening for cervical cancer.(2)Cases of CIN3 should be actively treated.(3)Cervical conization should be the first line method used to diagnose and treat cases of pathology-confirmed high grade cervical changes(CIN2 and greater).

Abstract:Objectiveto analyze the distribution of HPV genotype, cytology and the clinical characteristics of VaIN. MethodsAll patients with histological-proven VaIN at West China Second University Hospital, between January 1, 2014, and October 1, 2020 were retrospectively identified. Demographics, medical history, HPV genotype, viral load and cytology results were retrieved. Standard statistical analyses were conducted. ResultsOf 3229 patients included, 42.3% were diagnosed with VaIN 1, 30.3% with VaIN 2 and 27.4% with VaIN 3. Patients with VaIN 3 were the oldest (p<0.001). The leading HPV genotypes were HPV 16, 52, 58, 53, 56 and 81. The positive rate HPV 16 was positively correlated with the grade of VaIN and infected most of VaIN 3 patients (76.0%). The sensitivities of cytology for VaIN only, concomitant VaIN and VaIN after hysterectomy were 75.6%, 78.8% and 82.9%, respectively (p=0.013), and the sensitivities of HPV were 91.1%, 93.5% and 91.7%, respectively (p=0.205). Cotesting improved the sensitivities, up to 96.9%, 97.1% and 98.1%, respectively. ConclusionsVaIN can occur alone or be concomitant with cervical or vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia. Most of VaIN 2/3 are infected with HPV 16. The sensitivity of cytology and HPV testing is non-inferior to that of CIN 2+. [Characteristics of Invisible Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia Ⅲ under Colposcopy].

Abstract:Objective: To explore the human papilomavirus (HPV) genotypes and epithelial thickness of invisible cervical intraepithelial neoplasia Ⅲ (CIN Ⅲ) under colposcopy. Methods: One hundred and sixty-nine biopsies from 93 patients with a final diagnosis of CIN Ⅲ were extracted from the Shenzhen cervical cancer screening trial Ⅱ (SHENCCAST Ⅱ) . The SHENCCAST Ⅱ was conducted from 2009 to 2010. All the cervical blocks from these patients were re-cut and placed on 6 slides, i.e. sandwich model, with the top and bottom sections being stained with HE, the top second be processed for other studies, 3 sections for HPV genotypes by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight-mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) assay. The thickness of squamous epithelium of CIN Ⅲ was measured by a microscope (×10) after re-cut. Colposcope directed CIN Ⅲ biopsies positively was defined as visible CIN Ⅲ, while random CIN Ⅲ biopsies positively was defined as invisible CIN Ⅲ. Results: HPV16 positivity was 37.2% (16/43) and 55.6% (70/126) between invisible and visible CIN Ⅲ biopsies, respectively (χ(2)=4.318, P=0.038) . Forty-nine cases of the 93 CIN Ⅲ patients were HPV16 positive, while 44 of them non-HPV16 positive. The proportion of patients with ≥45 years of age for other non-HPV16 positive 40.9% (18/44) was significantly higher than that HPV16 positive 20.4% (10/49; χ(2)=4.630, P=0.031) . Patients with HPV16 positive were more likely to have lesions ≥1 quadrant (χ(2)=7.786, P=0.005) than other non-HPV16 positive. Compared the average epithelium thickness of invisible CIN Ⅲ tissue (140±12) μm, the average epithelium thickness of visible CIN Ⅲ tissue (161±9) μm was thicker. There was statistical difference between two groups (t=4.383, P=0.038). The mean average epithelial thickness of CIN Ⅲ with HPV16 positive (172±11) μm was thicker than that the mean average epithelial thickness of CIN Ⅲ with non-HPV16 positive (130±10) μm (t=4.784, P=0.031) . Conclusions: Invisible lesions is difficult to identify under colposcopy and is related to non-HPV16 positive, small lesion size and thinner squamous epithelium. For non-HPV16 positive or older women should be performed colposcope directed biopsies and randomly multi-sites biopsies by colopscopy, which may be helpful to improve the detection of CIN Ⅲ and to reduce miss diagnosis.

Abstract:Objective: To explore the detection trend of vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VaIN) of lower genital tract from 2013 to 2015. Methods: A retrospective analysis was undertaken of colposcopy-directed biopsy of cervical, vaginal and vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia lesions include cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), VaIN and vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University from January 2013 to December 2015. Results: (1) Overall data of CIN, VaIN and VIN: a total of 16 732 cases were diagnosed of lower genital intraepithelial neoplasia in 3 years, accounting for 23.20% (16 732/72 128) of total colposcopy-directed biopsy cases. Among them, CIN, VaIN and VIN accounted for 19.48% (14 053/72 128), 2.67% (1 923/72 128), 1.05% (756/72 128) of total colposcopy-directed biopsy cases of the lower genital tract, 83.99% (14 053/16 732), 11.49% (1 923/16 732), 4.52% (756/16 732) of total lower genital intraepithelial neoplasia, respectively. (2) Annual data of CIN, VaIN and VIN from 2013 to 2015. The annual proportion of CIN in all intraepithelial neoplasia of lower gential tract was basically stable, consisting of 86.02%(3 955/4 598),83.25%(4 795/5 760) and 83.20% (5 303/6 374), respectively. The annual proportion of VaIN was gradually increasing, consisting of 8.09%(372/4 598), 12.45%(717/5 760) and 13.08%(834/6 374), respectively. The annual proportion of VIN was gradually decreasing, consisting of 5.89%(271/4 598), 4.31%(248/5 760) and 3.72%(237/6 374), respectively. Conclusion: The increasing detection of VaIN from 2013 to 2015 might correlate with the increasing attention to inspection of the entire vaginal wall.
Risk factors for vaginal squamous intra-epithelial lesions in women with high-grade cervical lesions

Abstract:Objective To investigate the high-risk factors associated with concurrent cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia (CIN) and vaginal intra-epithelial neoplasia (VaIN) in patients with high-grade lesions. Methods This retrospective study at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University included patients diagnosed with concurrent CIN2/3 and VaIN2/3 (concurrent group) over the period from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2019. Patients with only CIN2/3 during the corresponding period were selected chronologically on a 1:2 basis (CIN group). Demographic data, human papillomavirus (HPV) infection rates, genotypes, and cytology results were compared between the groups. Results A total of 128 patients were included. The median age in the concurrent group was 50 years (range 20–79), which was significantly higher than the median age of 38 (range 23–72) in the CIN group (p<0.001). The cytological sensitivity for identifying high-grade lesions was markedly higher in the concurrent group at 83.1% (103 out of 124) compared with 68.4% (175 out of 256) in the CIN-only group (p=0.002). The prevalence of HPV 16 was 62.8% in the concurrent group, significantly higher than 51.6% in the CIN group (p=0.04). Conclusions The risk of concurrent VaIN2/3 increases with age among women with CIN2/3. Cytology screening is effective for detecting concurrent VaIN2/3, with a sensitivity of 83.1%.

Abstract:This study aimed to provide comprehensive clinical screening data for anal intraepithelial neoplasia (AIN). This study included 312 patients who underwent high‐resolution anoscopy (HRA) examinations between January 1, 2020 and April 15, 2024. Clinical data, including demographic information, clinical history, cytology/high‐risk human papilloma virus (hrHPV) results, and HRA records, were analyzed. The median age of all patients was 42 years (interquartile range: 33–52 years). Approximately 26.3% reported a history of VIN2/3+, 13.5% had a history of VaIN2/3+, 29.8% had a history of CIN2/3+, 44.6% had persistent cervical HPV16 infection, and 12.5% had immune suppression. Among the 312 patients, 14.4% were diagnosed with AIN2/3, 25.0% with AIN1 and 60.6% were normal. Abstract:Purpose This study aimed to explore the clinical characteristics and risk factors associated with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) when coexisting with vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VAIN). Methods We analyzed the clinical data of 212 patients diagnosed with CIN, including 50 patients with concurrent VAIN. The groups were compared to identify distinct clinical features and independent risk factors for the co-occurrence of CIN and VAIN, using logistic regression analysis. Results Patients with both CIN and VAIN had a median age of 57, significantly older than the 41-year median age of patients with CIN only (P < 0.05). A higher prevalence of HPV infection (98.0%) was observed in the CIN and VAIN group, with a notable rate of multiple HPV infections (67.3%) compared to the CIN-only group (P < 0.05). Educational levels were significantly lower in the combined CIN and VAIN group (P < 0.05). HPV16, 33, and 52 were identified as significant types for single and multiple infections. Multivariate analysis confirmed age as an independent risk factor for CIN with VAIN (P < 0.05). VAIN3 patients were more likely to exhibit HSIL and ASC-H, whereas VAIN1 cases tended to correspond with ASCUS and LSIL diagnoses. Conclusion The co-occurrence of CIN and VAIN is significantly influenced by patient age and educational level. The findings advocate for more diligent vaginal examination during colposcopy in older patients, particularly those with multiple HPV infections and cytological abnormalities, to enhance the early detection of vaginal lesions and prevent missed diagnoses and treatments. Additionally, the high prevalence of HPV infection, especially with certain types, underscores the importance of HPV monitoring in this patient population.

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the diagnosis and differential diagnosis,prognosis and early prevention of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.Methods:Total of 120 cases of cervical intraepithelial lesions were followed-up,and observed the characteristics and classification.Results:The diagnosis of CINⅠin 12 cases(10%),CIN Ⅱ grade 44 cases(36.7%),CIN Ⅲ 64 cases(53.3%).CIN Ⅰ-Ⅲ grade cervical loop conization 77 cases(64.2%),CIN Ⅲ grade hysterectomy in 43 cases(35.8%).Conclusion:Cervical three-step examination of the cervical CIN is useful to early diagnosis and early treatment and reduce the cervical carcinoma incidence rate and mortality.
A Prospective Study of Multiple Targeting CO 2 Laser Ablation for the Treatment of Vaginal Intraepithelial Neoplasia

Abstract:Objective To investigate the detailed procedure and efficacy of multiple targeting CO2 laser ablation (MTLA-CO2) for the treatment of vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VaIN) and to obtain a stably high cure rate and low complication incidence. Design Patients with VaIN were recruited and received MTLA. After follow-up, we aimed to find the risk factors affecting the efficacy. Setting Obstetrics & Gynecological outpatients’ department of Tongji Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Population Fifty-seven cases of LSIL(VaIN1) and 160 cases of HSIL(VaIN2,3). Methods Patients with VaIN were recruited and received MTLA. The detailed clinical data were recorded and the risk factors were analyzed. Main Outcome Measures The pathological cure and HPV clearance. Results The cumulative pathological cure rate was 92.0% and 96.0%, and the cumulative HPV negative rate was 77.5% and 75.5%, for the HSIL(VaIN2,3) and LSIL(VaIN1) groups respectively. Larger areas of lesions (p =0.083) and history of hysterectomy (p =0.037) were independent risk factors for pathological persistence. Menopause (p =0.006) and immunosuppression (p =0.059) were independent risk factors for HR-HPV persistent infection. Condemn use (p =0.002) was a protective factor against HR-HPV infection. It was proposed 3~5 times of laser ablation for HSIL(VaIN2,3) and 2~3 times of laser ablation for LSIL(VaIN1). Conclusions The MTLA for VaIN was effective and well-tolerated. The schematization of MTLA was decided according to the characteristics of VaIN lesions, high-risk factors and surveillance. Abstract:Vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VaIN), a precancerous lesion associated with human papillomavirus (HPV), impacts women's health and quality of life. However, the natural progression of VaIN after hysterectomy remains uncertain, due to its low incidence. The existing literature predominantly consists of single-center retrospective studies lacking robust evidence-based medicine. The management of VaIN after hysterectomy is diverse and controversial, lacking a consensus on the optimal approach. Therefore, it is imperative to investigate the development of VaIN after hysterectomy, emphasizing the importance of accurate diagnosis and effective management strategies.
