Abstract:Based on a sample of 58x10{sup 6}J/{psi} decays collected with the BESII detector at the BEPC, the {Lambda} decay parameter {alpha}{sub {Lambda}}for {Lambda}{yields}p{pi}{sup +} is measured using about 9000 J/{psi}{yields}{Lambda}{Lambda}{yields}pp{pi}{sup +{pi}-} decays. A fit to the joint angular distributions yields {alpha}{sub {Lambda}({Lambda}{yields}p{pi}{sup +})}=-0.755{+-}0.083{+-}0.063, where the first error is statistical, and the second systematic.
