Abstract:A proton-conductive supramolecular complex, {[Cu(H2O)8][H(H2O)3](HINO)4(PMo12O40)} n , was constructed by a self-assembly of H+(H2O)3 clusters, [Cu(H2O)8]2+ clusters, [PMo12O40]3− anions, and isonicotinic acid N-oxide (HINO). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis at 293 K revealed that the complex presented the three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular framework built from non-covalent interactions. Interestingly, [PMo12O40]3− anions self-assembled into poly-Keggin-anion chains in the supramolecular framework. Thermogravimetric analysis shows no weight loss in the temperature range of 20–100 °C, indicating that all water molecules in the unit structure are not easily lost below 100 °C. Surprisingly, the proton conductivity of the complex in the temperature range of 85–100 °C under 98% RH condition reached good proton conductivity of 10−3 S cm−1. A possible mechanism of the proton conduction was proposed according to the experimental results.

Abstract:The title complex, [Cu3(C9H8BrNO4S)2(C7H4BrO2)2(C10H8N2)2]·H2O, lies on an inversion center located on the central Cu atom, which is four-coordinated in a square-planar geometry, whereas the outer Cu atoms related by symmetry are five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. The trinuclear mol-ecules, with an intramolecular Cu⋯Cu separation of 6.313 (3) Å, are linked to each other, forming a chain through O - H⋯O and O - H⋯Br hydrogen bonds involving the half-occupied water mol-ecule. Futhermore, weak C - H⋯O inter-actions link the chains to form a supra-molecular network.

Abstract:A novel inorganic-organic hybrid based on isopolyanion,{[Cu2(phen)2(μ-ox)][H2Mo8O26]}·4EtOH·Et2O(1) (phen=phenanthroline,ox=oxalate),was synthesized under open-air mild reaction conditions,and characterized by elemental analysis,IR,ICP,TG and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.The crystal structure belongs to triclinic system with space group Pī and cell parameters:a=1.1075(5) nm,b=1.1608(5) nm,c=1.3333(5) nm,α=91.683(5)o,β=113.996(5)o,γ=112.170(5)o,V=1.4159(10) nm3,Mr=2017.44,Z=1,Dc=2.366 g/cm3 and F(000)=980.0.The structure of hybrid 1 is a 1D chain constructed of alternating octamolybdate isopolyanions [β-(Mo8O26)4-] and oxalato-bridged dinuclear copper complex cations [Cu2(phen)2(μ-ox)]2+.Ultimately,a 3D supramolecular network was formed by hydrogen bond interactions among the adjacent chains.The result shows that hybrid 1 is the first example of inorganic-organic hybrid constructed from isopolyanion and oxalato-bridged dinuclear copper complex fragment (CCDC No.665101).

Abstract:The neutral three-dimensional cyano-bridged bimetallic coordination polymer, {[Cu(en)2][Cu(en)][Mo(CN)8]}n·4nH2O (en=ethylenediamine), has been synthesized and characterized. X-ray study shows that the asymmetric unit of the three-dimensional Cu(II)–Mo(IV) polymeric assembly consists of two half [Cu(en)2]2+ cations, a [Cu(en)]2+ cation and a [Mo(CN)8]4− ion, together with four water molecules. The latter Cu site is coordinated by two N atoms from an en ligand and by three cyanides in a distorted square-pyramidal environment. The Cu(II) ions of the two [Cu(en)2]2+ cations on the centers of inversion reside in an elongated octahedral geometry, and one of the [Cu(en)2]2+ cations is encapsulated in a ‘box’ formed by two pairs of co-lateral Cu2Mo2(CN)4 12-membered macrocyclic units. The Mo(VI) atom is coordinated by eight cyanides in an irregular square antiprism. Five of these acting as bridging units connect the Mo and the three Cu atoms to form an infinite three-dimensional porous network containing a zigzag-ladder structure.

Abstract:Two sandwich-type complexes Na-gn(Cu(im)(4)(H2O)(2))(1.51)(Cu(im)(4)(H2O))(n) [{Cu(im)(4)}{Na(H2O)(2)}(3)(Cu-3(im)(2)(H2O)}(XW9O33)(2)](2n)center dot(xH(2)O)(n) (im = imidazole, X = Bi (1), Sb (2), x = 42.5 (1), 40 (2)) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Basic frameworks of 1 and 2 are built from sandwich-type [{Na(H2O)(2)}(3{)Cu-3(im)(2)(H2O)}(XW9O33)2](9-) (X = Bi or Sb) anions and [Cu(im)(4)](2+) cations. The Cu2+ and Na+ ions in the central belt are coordinated by alpha-[XW9O33](9-) units, im, and water molecules to form {CuO4(im)}, {CuO4(H2O)}, and {NaO4(H2O)2} groups in which Cu2+ ions are partially modified With im ligands. These groups connect alternately forming a six-membered ring including six alpha-[XW9O33](9-) units. Neighboring anions are further linked by [Cu(im)(4)](2+) cations to display an unprecedented anionic chain, which is first observed in sandwich-type tungsto-bismuthate (-antimonite) system. Two kinds of isolated copper complexes and sodium ions are located as counterions, which cause three-dimensional packings of 1 and 2 to present interesting cage structures. The magnetic properties for 1 and 2 both indicate dominant antiferromagnetic interactions among trinuclear Cu(II) clusters.

Abstract:A Schiff base chelating ligand containing oxime group, 1-(4-{[(E)-5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzylidene] aminolphenyl)ethanone O-benzyloxime (HL, C15H16N2O) and its Ca(II) complex ([CuL2]) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, UV-Vis spectra and X-ray single crystal diffraction method. In the crystal structure of HL, the intermolecular Cl center dot center dot center dot Cl halogen bonding interaction links a pair of HL molecules to form a dimer unit with the Cl center dot center dot center dot Cl distance of 0.345 9(3) nm, and every dimer further links four other adjacent dimer units into an infinite 3D supramolecular networks structure containing 1D rectangle channels by intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interactions. The structure of the CO(II) complex is a mononuclear, consists of one Cu(II) atoms, two bidentate L- units. The Cu(II) atom is in a square-planar geometry. And each Cu(I) complex molecule links four other molecules into an infinite 2D layer supramolecular structure by intermolecular C-H center dot center dot pi interactions. This linkage is further stabilized by pi center dot center dot center dot pi stacking interactions with the centroid-centroid distances of 0.368 9(3) nm. CCDC: 1003553, HL; 1003552, Cu(I) complex.

Abstract:The synthesis and structural characterization of a supramolecular copper(I) complex of 2-thioxo-1,3-dithiolo[4,5-b][1,4]dithiepin-6(7H)-one are described. The complex crystallized in the orthorhombic space group Pna2(1) with the cell dimensions a = 12.9124(2), b = 20.7944(2), c = 4.4457(1) Angstrom, V = 1193.70(3) Angstrom(3) and Z = 4. The structure was refined to a final agreement factor R = 0.0295. The C6H4OS5Cu units are connected by bridging iodide atoms to form a ladder structure. The Cu ... Abstract:Using 2-aminomethyl-1H-benzimidazole as the ligand, a new thiocyanate-bridged copper(II) complex, namely bis(2-aminomethyl-1H-benzimidazole-kappa(2)N(2),N-3)dithiocyanatocopper(II), [Cu(NCS)(2)(C8H9N3)], has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The Cu atom is five-coordinated and exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The thiocyanate ions (NCS-) act as either bridging or terminal ligands. The bridging NCS- ligands connect neighboring Cu atoms, constructing chains, while the terminal NCS. ligands form hydrogen bonds with amine H atoms, leading to a complicated network.

They are isostructural, possessing orthorhombic, and the parameters of unit cells for compound 1 are space group Pbca, a = 17.317(4) angstrom. b = 17.092(3) angstrom, c = 20.587(4) angstrom, V = 6445(2) angstrom(3), Z = 4; for compound 2 are space group Pcab, a = 17.181(3) angstrom b = 18.198(4) angstrom, c = 20.672(4) angstrom, V= 6463(2) angstrom(3), Z = 4. The two compounds show a layer framework constructed from Keggin-poly-oxoanion clusters and [Cu (2, 2'-bpy)(2)](2+) coordination polymer fragments via weak covalent interactions, resulting in a 3D network via supramolecular interactions. Abstract:Two supramolecular compounds [Cu(imz)2][Cu(phen)(imz)]2{[Cu(phen)]2[PMo6 VIMo6 VV2 IVO42]}(1) and [Co2(2,2′-bpy)4(C2O4)][Co(2,2′-bpy)3][PMo7 VIMo5 VV2 IVO42](2,2′-bpy)0.5·H2O(2)(phen=1,10′-phenanthroline, imz= imidazole, 2,2′-bpy=2.2′-bipyridine) have been synthesized hydrothermally and characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectrum, UV-Vis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), electron spin resonance(ESR) spectra, thermogravimetry analyses and single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that both the compounds represent the examples of compounds based on the bi-capped Keggin polyoxoanion {PMo12V2O42} and transition metal mixed-organic-ligand coordination complexes. Compound 1 consists of bi-capped Keggin polyoxoanion [PMo12V2O42]5− supported copper coordination groups, which are further inter-connected with two types of copper complex fragments forming a 3D supramolecular framework via π⋯π stacking, C-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrothermal bonding interactions. Compound 2 is a new hybrid consisted of polyoxoanion [PMo12V2O42]4−, [Co2(2,2′-bpy)4(C2O4)]2+ and [Co(2,2′-bpy)3]2+. There are no direct interactions in compound 2, but the polyoxoanions together with two different cobalt complex groups construct a 3D supramolecular network through C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding interactions.
A New One-Dimensional Thiocyanato-Bridged Bimetallic Compound [cu(en)(2)mn(ncs)(4)(h2o)(2)](n). Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Magnetic Properties

Abstract:A bimetallic compound [Cu(en) 2 Mn(NCS) 4 (H2O) 2 ] n (en = ethylenediamine) has been prepared and its structure determined. It crystallizes in space group , with a = 7.432(1), b = 7.492(1), c = 9.751(2) Å, α = 91.00(3)°, ß = 99.14(3)°, γ = 112.51(3)°, and Z = 1. The structure consists of one-dimensional chains in which alternating Mn(II) and Cu(II) ions are bridged by NCS ligands. The coordination environment is octahedral for Mn(II) and elongated octahedral for Cu(II). From magnetic susceptibility measurements the compound was found to exhibit a ground state of low-spin multiplicity. Comparison between theory and experimental has been made using 1-D model and taking into account the zero-field splitting effect. The decrease in chi m T observed at low temperature for the compound is attributed to a dominant zero-field splitting of the single Mn(II) ions with a weak antiferromagnetic interaction superimposed between the Mn(II) ions via the NCS-Cu-SCN pathway within each chain. Abstract:A novel copper complex [Cu-2(L)(DMF)(2)] (1, H4L = (1Z,N'Z)-3,5-dibromo-N'- ((3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxyphenyl)(hydroxy)methylene)-2-hydroxybenzohydrazonic acid which was synthesized by in-situ oxidation reaction derived from H(2)hdb (H(2)hdb = 6,6'-((1E,1'E)- hydrazine-1,2-diylidenebis (methanylylidene)) bis(2,4-dibromophenol)) has been synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis (CHN), TG and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The single crystal belongs to monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/c with a = 13.538(1), b = 3.912(1), c = 23.778(1) angstrom, beta = 105.232(5)degrees, M-r = 857.08, V = 1214.9(1) angstrom(3), Z = 2, D-c = 2.343 g/cm(3), F(000) = 824, mu = 8.375 mm(-1), R = 0.0566, and wR = 0.1610. Compound 1 displays weak anti-ferro- magnetic interactions through a eta(1):eta(1):eta(1):eta(1):eta(1):eta(1):mu(2)-L4- bridging mode. Hirshfeld surface analysis revealed that complex 1 was supported mainly by Br center dot center dot center dot H and H center dot center dot center dot H intermolecular interactions.

Abstract:An azide-bridged polymeric cationic chain complex, [LCu 2 (N 3 ) 2 ] n (ClO 4 ) 2 n ·n(H 2 O)**, where L=the dinucleating macrocyclic ligand bis- p -xylylBISDIEN, has been prepared and characterized by x-ray crystallography, u.v.-vis and i.r. spectra, and by magnetic measurements. The structure consists of cationic azide-bridged [LCu 2 (N 3 ) 2 ] 2+ (unit) chains, non-coordinated perchlorate anions and crystallized water molecules. The azide anion is bound to two copper atoms in neighboring units with an end-to-end bridging mode. In each unit, the copper atoms have a different coordination geometry; Cu(1) is a four-coordinated, distorted square-planar geometry, whereas Cu(2) is a five-coordinated, distorted square-pyramid. The electronic spectra of the title complex differ in anhydrous and in aqueous MeCN solutions, indicating that dissociation and solvation occur in aqueous solutions. The characteristic i.r. absorptions of azides and perchlorates are described. Magnetic moments vary from 2.05 (B.M.) at 300K to␣2.01 (B.M.) at 80K, which suggests that very weak interactions exist between the metals.

Assembly of Copper–tetrazole Frameworks with Role-Changeable Keggin Clusters: Syntheses, Structures, Solvent-Dependent Luminescence and Electrochemistry Properties

Abstract:Two new Keggin-based hybrids with polynuclear Cu(I) clusters, formulated as [Cu-4(HL)(4)(SiW12O40)]center dot 6H(2)O (1) and [Cu-6.5(HL)(2)(L)(4)(H2O)(H1.5SiW12O40)]center dot 3H(2)O (2) (HL = 5-(4-imidazol-1-ylphenyl)-2H-tetrazole), have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by routine techniques. In 1, Keggin polyanions [SiW12O40](4-) (SiW12) link adjacent [Cu-4(HL)(4)](n) chains to generate a 2D network. In 2, a cationic (2,3,11)-connected 3D framework, {Cu-6.5(HL)(2)(L)(4)(H2O)}(2.5+), is induced by SiW12 as the template. The differences in the structures of compounds 1 and 2 indicate that pH and the acid radical ions in the initial reaction system play a key role in determining the final structures. Interestingly, the ligand HL in 1 only adopts a mu(1,2,3) bridging mode, while in 2, the ligand is in HL/L states and exhibits four different bridging modes: mu(1,2,3,4,5), mu(1,2,3,5,) mu(1,2,4,5,) and mu(1,2,4). The luminescent properties of compounds 1 and 2 have also been investigated. The results show that solvent-dependent luminescence properties can be found in 1. In addition, electrochemistry properties of 1 and 2 have also been studied.

Abstract:Supramolecular Cu(II) complexes were prepared from two trifunctional β-diketone ligands. The ligands (CH(3)Si(phacH)(3) and CH(3)Si(phprH)(3), represented by LH(3)) contain three aryl-β-diketone moieties joined by an organosilicon group.
