Abstract:With the rapid development of spatiotemporal information and application, how to manage the spatiotemporal data is increasingly important. Over the years, various spatiotemporal data models, including raster-based spatiotemporal data modelsSpatiotemporal data model raster(grid)-based spatiotemporal data model (sequent snapshots model and discrete gridding list model), vector-based spatiotemporal data modelsSpatiotemporal data model vector-based spatiotemporal data model (base state with amendments model and space-time composite model), time-based spatiotemporal data modelsSpatiotemporal data model time-based spatiotemporal data model (space-time cube model and event-based spatiotemporal data model), and object-basedObject-based spatiotemporal data modelsSpatiotemporal data model object-based spatiotemporal data model, are developed for spatiotemporal data modeling and data managementData management. In this chapter, spatiotemporal data and spatiotemporal data models will be introduced.
