Abstract:CD155 (poliovirus receptor, PVR/nectin like molecule-5, Necl-5) is a cell adhesion molecule that plays an important role in tumor progression. It affects cell proliferation, migration, invasion and adhesion through tumor-related signaling pathways. It also interacts with DNAX accessory molecule-1 (DNAM-1), T cell immunoglobulin and ITIM domains (TIGIT) and CD96 on immune cells, affecting the function of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. High expression of CD155 has been detected on various types of tumor cells and it is closely related to the poor prognosis of patients. It can be used as a biomarker to predict the survival of tumor patients. CD155 and its receptors are expected as new targets for immunotherapy and have great potential in the field of tumor therapy. The progress of CD155 research in terms of its basic structure, biological function, usefulness in tumor diagnosis, prognosis, and immunotherapy are reviewed.
