Abstract:In this paper, we make a detailed study on the axial-vector a1(1260)-meson longitudinal leadingtwist distribution amplitude φ ‖ 2;a1 (x, μ) by using the QCD sum rules approach under the background field theory. By taking both the nonperturbative condensates up to dimension-six and the perturbative part up to next-to-leading order QCD corrections, its first three moments at the scale μ0 = 1 GeV are 〈ξ ‖;2 2;a1 〉|μ0 = 0.210±0.018, 〈ξ ‖;4 2;a1 〉|μ0 = 0.091±0.007, and 〈ξ ‖;6 2;a1 〉|μ0 = 0.052±0.004, respectively. Next, we calculate the transition form factors (TFFs) for D → a1(1260) under the light-cone sum rules approach. At the large recoil region, we obtain A(0) = 0.130 −0.015 , V1(0) = 1.899 −0.127 , V2(0) = 0.211 +0.018 −0.020 , and V0(0) = 0.235 +0.026 −0.025 . After extrapolating those TFFs into the physically allowable region, we obtain the differential decay widths and branching fractions of the semileptonic decays D → a −(0) 1 (1260)l νl, i.e. B(D 0 → a−1 (1260)e νe) = (5.421 +0.702 −0.697) × 10 , B(D → a1(1260)e νe) = (6.875 +0.890 −0.884) × 10 , B(D → a−1 (1260)μ νμ) = (4.864 +0.647 −0.641) × 10 , B(D → a1(1260)μ νμ) = (6.169 +0.813 −0.821)× 10 .
