Abstract:Unbalanced data always makes the classification result unsatisfied. In real applications, it is very common that only few labeled data can be used for training of neural networks. To solve this problem, an improved multidimensional distance Siamese network (MD-SN) is presented in this paper and then applied to intelligent bearing fault diagnosis. In this method, the convolutional neural network (CNN) is used as a sub-network of Siamese network, and the low dimension features are extracted from raw data and then the label of the unlabeled data can be predicted by comparing the similarity between this data and the labeled data, so that the mapping between the data and label obtained from limited training samples can be applied to the test data. Moreover, the maximum mean difference (MMD), instead of the commonly used Euclidean distance, is used to measure the similarity between probability distributions of two data sets, not the data sets themselves. The experiments use different bearings with varying working conditions to verify the effectiveness of the MD-SN. The experimentai results and comparisons indicate that the proposed MD-SN shows higher classification accuracy than the normal CNN and SN. Although there are very few training samples, it still can identify more than half of samples. It shows that the MD-SN can be applied to real cases of few labeled data.
