Intermetallic ferromagnetic coupling is operative within the 2D layer, giving rise to an S=7 ground state. C=black, Cr=pink, Cu=blue, Gd=green, N=violet, O=red. The structure was solved by direct methods (SHELXS-97). All nonhydrogen atoms were refined anisotropically (SHELXL-97). All hydrogen atoms were added geometrically and refined by using a riding model. R1=0.0968, wR2=0.1846 (all data), GOF=1.062 based on 802 parameters.
