A Research On The Competition-Cooperation Model Of The Urban Agglomeration Exhibition Industry Based On The Niche Theory

Abstract:Regional exhibition system is a complex ecological system composed of natural environment and social environment. Some literatures discuss the development of regional exhibition industry from the perspective of competition-cooperation; however existing literatures rarely study the regional exhibition competitioncooperation from the ecology perspective and based on the mutual certification method. By taking the urban agglomeration exhibition industry as the research object, the authors construct an urban exhibition industry competitiveness evaluation index system based on literature review. The authors take Michael Porter's "diamond" model as the theoretical framework, use two different methods, i. e. the ecological niche state and tendency model and analytic hierarchy process. An empirical study on the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration for mutual certification is conducted. The results not only confirm the rationality of two kinds of methods to the competitiveness measurement, but also are more convincing on competitiveness ranking. On the basis of this research, the authors construct an urban agglomeration exhibition industry cooperation-competition triangle model, which is composed of "internal triangle" and "external triangle".
