Abstract:Indoor levels for particulate matters were measured at the student dormitories in a certain university of Beijing in China in different seasons. The correlation of indoor with outdoor particulate matters and the relative contributions were investigated. Eighteen dormitories were measured from I I to 14, October 2005. Twelve dormitories were monitored from I I to 13, April 2006. All the dormitories monitored were naturally ventilated. The measurement results showed that indoor particulate matters concentration was lower than outdoor unless indoor exists emission source. The seasonal variation of particulate matters concentration was obvious. In the fall the particulate matters concentration was much higher. The superstandard percentage of PM 10 was 55.6% and 33.3% in the fall and spring, respectively. The superstandard percentage of PM1 was 55.6% and 8.3% in the fall and spring, respectively. Generally, the I/O ratio for particulate matters was less than 1. The correlation between indoor and outdoor particulate matters was very good and better in the fall than in the spring.
