Abstract:In this paper, the problems of global exponential stability for cellular neural networks (CNN) with time-varying delays are studied. Several sufficient conditions guaranteeing the network's global exponential stability are established. These results can easily be used to design and verify globally stable networks. Furthermore, the results presented here are independent of the form of specific delays and have important significance in both theory and applications.

Abstract:A new sufficient conditions for the global exponential stability of the equilibrium point for delayed cellular neural networks (DCNNs) is presented. It is shown that the use of a more general type of Lyapunov-Krasovskii function enables the derivation of new results for an exponential stability of the equilibrium point for DCNNs. The results establish a relation between the delay time and the parameters of the network. The results are also compared with one of the most recent results derived in the literature.

Abstract:For a class of cellular neural networks (CNNs) with variable delays, this paper presents some new sufficient conditions for guaranteeing the global exponential stability. These conditions are derived by using Lyapunov functional method and combining with the inequality 3abcless than or equal toa(3) + b(3) + c(3) (a, b, c > 0) technique. Furthermore, these stability conditions depend only on the network's coefficients, and are totally independent of the delays. The results, which do not require the cloning template to be symmetric, are easy to use in network design. Compared with existing results, our results are shown to be superior to other ones. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our results. (C) 2003 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Abstract:Two novel linear matrix inequality (LMI)-based stability criteria for the equilibrium point of cellular neural networks with constant time delay (DCNNs) are presented in this paper. The sufficient conditions of global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability are derived by employing a more general type of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and S-Procedure technique. Furthermore, we represent the exponential stability condition as GEVP. On the other hand, the results are presented in the form of LMI, and hence are easy to be verified. It turns out that the results derived in this paper are less conservative and more efficient than the most published results in the literature.

Abstract:In this Letter, by utilizing Lyapunov functional method and Halanay inequalities, we analyze global exponential stability of nonautonomous cellular neural networks with delay. Several new sufficient conditions ensuring global exponential stability of the network are obtained. The results given here extend and improve the earlier publications. An example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Abstract:A new sufficient condition for global exponential stability and lower bounds on the rate of exponential convergence of delayed cellular neural networks (DCNNs) is obtained by means of a method based on delay differential inequality. The method which does not make use of any Lyapunov functionals, is simple and effective for the stability analysis of neural networks with delay. Some previously established results in the literature are shown to be special cases of the presented result.

By utilizing a delay differential inequality, a new sufficient condition ensuring global exponential stability for cellular neural networks with time-varying coefficients and delays is presented. Since the condition does not require that the delay function be differentiable or the coefficients be bounded, the results here improve and extend those given in the earlier literature.

Abstract:The existence, uniqueness, globally exponential stability and speed of exponential convergence for a class of cellular neural networks are investigated. The existence of a unique equilibrium is proved under very concise conditions, and theorems for estimating the global convergence speed approaching the equilibrium and criteria for its globally exponential stability are derived, Considering synapse time delay, by constructing appropriate Lyapunov functional, the existence of a unique equilibrium and its global stability for the delayed network are also proved. Abstract:In this paper the exponential stability are investigated for a class of cellular neural networks (CNNs) with discrete and distributed delays. Some sufficient conditions are derived for checking the exponential stability for this system based on Lyapunov functional theory and dividing the state variables into subgroups according to the characters of the neural networks. These conditions are new and dependent on some blocks of the feedback matrix and the size of time delays. An illustrative example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper studies the problem of global exponential stability of the equilibrium of a class of neural networks with delays, by using the method of variation of constants and combining it with the method of inequality analysis. Sufficient conditions for global exponential stability of neural networks with delays are obtained, for which we do not require symmetry of the connection matrix and nonlinear properties for neural units to be continuously differentiable or strictly monotonically increasing. These conditions can be used to design globally stable neural networks.

Abstract:In this paper, the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium point and stability of the cellular neural networks (CNNs) with time-varying delays are analyzed and proved. Several global exponential stability conditions of the neural networks are obtained by the delay differential inequality and matrix measures approach. The obtained results are extensions of the earlier literature. The approach used in this paper is also suitable for delayed Hopfield neural networks and delayed bi-directional associative memory neural networks whose activation functions are often nondifferentiable or unbounded. Two simulation examples in comparison to previous results in literature are shown to check the theory in this paper.

Abstract:Stability analysis of cellular neural networks (CNNs)has been an important topic in the neuralnetwork field since it has great significance for many applications. The qualitative analysis of the neurodynamics has attracted considerable attention thus far[1～7]. In electronic implementation of neural networks,many problems such as switching delays, integration, and communication delays have arisen. In such a case, a delay parameter must be introduced into the system model. Study of neural dynamics with consideration of delays becomes particularly important in manufacturing high quality microelectronic neural networks. Global stability of delayed cellular neural networks (DCNNs) has been extensively studied[1～11]. Sufficient conditions[5,9,12,13] for global stability of DCNNs have been proposed, but the output of the cell is a piecewise linear function and the time-delay is constant. A wider adaptive range without assuming the output of the cell to be piecewise linear function[10,13] is introduced and the time-delay terms of DCNNs are also constant.Based on the Lyapunov stability theorem as well as some facts about the negative definiteness and inequality of matrices, a new sufficient condition is presented for the existence of a unique equilibrium point and its global exponential stability of the delayed CNNs. This condition imposes constraints on the size of the delay parameter. An illustrative example and its numerical simulation is also given to show the effectiveness of our results.
