Abstract:Using bifurcation method of dynamical systems and numerical simulation, we study the number and distribution of limit cycles of a cubic Hamiltonian system with lower perturbations. Eleven limit cycles and their accurate location are showed. A conjecture is given.

Abstract:First, this paper provides a new proof for the expression of the generalized first order Melnikov function on piecewise smooth differential systems with multiply straight lines. Then, by using the Melnikov function, we consider the limit cycle bifurcation problem of a 3-piecewise near Hamiltonian system with two switching lines, obtaining \begin{document}$ 2n+3[\frac{n+1}{2}] $\end{document} limit cycles near the double generalized homoclinic loop.

Abstract:A class of cubic Hamiltonion system with the higher-order perturbed term of degree n = 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 is investigated. We find that there exist at least 13 limit cycles with the distribution C-9(1) superset of 2[C-3(2) superset of 2C(2)(2)] (let C-m(k) denote a nest of limit cycles which encloses nl singular points, and the symbol 'subset of' is used to show the enclosing relations between limit cycles, while the sign '+' is used to divide limit cycles enclosing different critical points. Denote simply C-m(k) + C-m(k) = 2C(m)(k), etc.) in the Hamiltonian system under the perturbed term of degree 7, and give the complete bifurcation diagrams and classification of the phase portraits by using bifurcation theory and qualitative method and numerical simulations. These results in this paper are useful for the study of the weaken Hilbert 16th problem. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.

Abstract:In this paper, the perturbation of a class of cubic Hamiltonian systems is considered. Using Abelian integral, we prove that there exists a neighborhood of the center where the system has at most two limit cycles for arbitrary polynomial perturbation of degree three or four, and at most four limit cycles for arbitrary polynomial perturbation of degree five or six, respectively, which can be reached.

Abstract:This paper concerns with the number and distribution of limit cycles of a perturbed cubic Hamiltonian system which has 5 centers and 4 saddle points. The stability analysis and bifurcation methods of differential, equations are applied to study the homoclinic loop bifurcation under Z(2)-equivariant cubic perturbation. It is proved that the perturbed system can have 11 limit cycles with two different distributions, one of which is already known, the other is new.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the number and distribution of limit cycles of a cubic Hamiltonian system under quintic perturbation. By using the bifurcation theory and the method of detection function, we obtain that this system exists at least 14 limit cycles with the distribution C91⊃[C11+2(C32⊃2C12)]. These results in the paper are useful for the study of the weakened Hilbert’s 16th problem.

Abstract:The existence of limit cycles for a class of cubic Hamiltonian systems with perturbation is investigated. Based on the Poincarb transformation, the phase portraits of corresponding systems without perturbation are analyzed. Applying Poincarb bifurcation theory, geometrical characteristic of the level curves defined by the first integral is discussed. By computing Abelian integral, a sufficient condition for the existence of limit cycles of Hamiltonian systems with perturbation is established.

Abstract:Using the method of qualitative analysis we show that five perturbed cubic Hamiltonian systems have the same distribution of limit cycles and have 11 limit cycles for some parameters. The accurate location of each limit cycle is given by numerical exploration. In other words, we demonstrate the existence of 11 limit cycles and their distribution in five perturbed systems in two ways, the results obtained from both ways are the same.

Abstract:In this paper, we study limit cycle bifurcations for a kind of non-smooth polynomial differential systems by perturbing a piecewise linear Hamiltonian system with the center at the origin and a homoclinic loop around the origin. By using the first Melnikov function of piecewise near-Hamiltonian systems, we give lower bounds of the maximal number of limit cycles in Hopf and homoclinic bifurcations, and derive an upper bound of the number of limit cycles that bifurcate from the periodic annulus between the center and the homoclinic loop up to the first order in ε. In the case when the degree of perturbing terms is low, we obtain a precise result on the number of zeros of the first Melnikov function.

Abstract:This paper concerns with the number and distributions of limit cycles of a quintic subject to a seven-degree perturbation.With the aid of numeric integral computation provided by Mathematica 4.1,at least 45 limit cycles are found in the above system by applying the method of double homoclinic loops bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation and qualitative analysis.The four configurations of 45 limit cycles of the system are also shown. The results obtained are useful to the study of the weakened 16th Hilbert Problem.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the number and distribution of limit cycles of a perturbed cubic Hamiltonian system which has 5 centers and 4 saddle points. The singular point and singular close orbits’ stability theory and perturbation skills of differential equations are applied to study the Hopf, homoclinic loop and heteroclinic loop bifurcation of such system under Z4-equivariant quintic perturbation. It is found that the perturbed system has at least 16 limit cycles bifurcated from the focus. Further, at least 14 limit cycles with three different distributions appear in the heteroclinic loops bifurcation.

Abstract:By using the theory of bifurcations of dynamical systems and the method of detection function to investigate the bifurcation of limit cycles of a perturbed quintic Hamiltonian system with 25 finite singular points and four infinite singular points. Abstract:In this paper, the authors consider limit cycle bifurcations for a kind of nonsmooth polynomial differential systems by perturbing a piecewise linear Hamiltonian system with a center at the origin and a heteroclinic loop around the origin. When the degree of perturbing polynomial terms is n (n ≥ 1), it is obtained that n limit cycles can appear near the origin and the heteroclinic loop respectively by using the first Melnikov function of piecewise near-Hamiltonian systems, and that there are at most n + [n+1/2] limit cycles bifurcating from the periodic annulus between the center and the heteroclinic loop up to the first order in ε. Abstract:We investigate the bifurcations of limit cycles in a class of planar quadratic integrable (non-Hamiltonian) systems with two centres, both surrounded by unbounded heteroclinic loops, under small quadratic perturbations. By a careful study of the number of zeros of Abelian integrals based on the geometric properties of some planar curves, defined by ratios of such integrals, we obtain complete results about the number and the distribution of limit cycles bifurcating from the two period annuli.

Abstract:The number and distribution of limit cycles of a perturbed Z4-equivariant Hamiltonian system are studied in this paper. The existence theory and stability theory of singular close orbits are applied to study the given perturbed system. By using the small parametric perturbation skills of differential equations, we find that the perturbed Z4-equivariant system has at least 20 limit cycles. The distribution of the above 20 limit cycles is also given.
