Abstract:In this paper, we present a switching method to generate a new unified chaotic system. The new unified chaotic system has a compound structure by merging together a Lorenz's swing and a Chen's swing. Dynamical behaviors of the new unified system are investigated, and an electronic circuit is designed and built to confirm this new chaotic system.

Abstract:The new chaos control method presented in this paper is useful for taking advantage of chaos. Based on sliding mode control theory, this paper provides a switching manifold controlling strategy of chaotic system, and also gives a kind of adaptive parameters estimated method to estimate the unknown systems' parameters by which chaotic dynamical system can be synchronized. Taking the Lorenz system as example, and with the help of this controlling strategy, we can synchronize chaotic systems with unknown parameters and different initial conditions.

Abstract:Based on the stability theory of fractional order systems, an effective but theoretically rigorous nonlinear control method is proposed to synchronize the fractional order chaotic systems. Using this method, chaos synchronization between two identical fractional order unified systems is studied. Simulation results are shown to illustrate the effectiveness of this method.

Abstract:In this paper, based on the stability properties of a passive system, a simple linear state feedback controller is proposed to realize the stability control of a unified chaotic system. Using this method, we can render the non-passive unified chaotic system to be equivalent to a passive one. Simulation results are shown to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Abstract:A new chaotic system is built by chaotification.The equilibrium,eigenvalue,Lyapunov,dimension and Lyapunov exponent of system is analyzed.A practical circuit is designed to realize the system which is constitutive of two subsystems and the experimentation is carried out.The manifold chaotic attractor of the two subsystems are observed in the oscillograph.

Abstract:For solving the chaos synchronization problem between two chaotic systems with bidirectional coupling,a new synchronization method of chaotic systems based on time-delayed feedback was presented.Coupling coefficients between the drive and response systems were assumed identically and states were supposed to be linearly-coupled.Based on the Lyapunov stability theory,the condition was derived for synchronization according to the error dynamic system of the synchronization model.The scope of coupling parameters was obtained by solving Riccati equations. After delay time was selected appropriately,the effects of the states between the response system and the drive system were studied.The results show that the synchronization and control of systems can be guaranteed in the parameter scope.The trace of coupling chaotic systems can be synchronized by the changing delay time of control signal,and the system can be controlled to the fixed point or the period orbit.

Abstract:In this paper, a new strategy is developed for controlling chaos and hyperchaos in a nonlinear system via switching modulation of systems parameters. The control method is illustrated by examples of the third-order chaotic Chua's circuit and a sixth-order coupled hyperchaotic Chua's circuit. Numerical simulations show that this method is very effective.

Abstract:In order to realize the stabilizing control of the unified chaos system, optimal control was designed for the unified chaos system based on the minimum principle. The two equilibria of the unified chaos system, which are essentially unstable, can be stabilized by the optimal controller. In case of clarity and completeness, all the three different switching surfaces or curves which are depend on the imposed positions of the control signal are derived and the resulted control law is proved to be a bang-bang one. Logic decision part is employed to guarantee the right action of the control when it is added to the third equation so as to overcome the drawback of the single switching control. Simulation results of the transient process of the states and the projections of the phase locus of the closed control system are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the suggested scheme.

Abstract:Constrained control is designed in this paper for chaotic Lu¨ system based on the Minimum Principle.The two equilibria of Lu¨ system,which are essentially unstable,can be stabilized by the constrained control action.In case of clarity and completeness,all three different switching surfaces or curves which are depending on the imposed positions of the control signal are derived.The first two of them among the resulted control laws are proved to be bang-bang ones.In order to overcome the constraint of the bang-bang control in the third one,we employed a captured zone with adjustable range according to the ergodicity of chaotic motion,so another control law is a compound one,consisting of bang-bang action and logic switching.Finally,the effectiveness of the suggested scheme is demonstrated and verified by the simulation results of a ultimate closed-control system.

Abstract:This paper deals with the synchronization of chaotic systems with structure or parameters difference. Nonlinear differential geometry theory was applied to transform the chaotic discrepancy system into canonical form. A feedback control for synchronizing two chaotic systems is proposed based on sliding mode control design. To make this controller physically realizable, an extended state observer is used to estimate the error between the transmitter and receiver. Two illustrative examples were carried out: (1) The Chua oscillator was used to show that synchronization was achieved and the message signal was recovered in spite of parametric variations; (2) Two second-order driven oscillators were presented to show that the synchronization can be achieved and that the message can be recovered in spite of the strictly different model.

Abstract:Research on switchable chaotic systems with a large range of parameters is scarce. To explore the chaotic characteristics of such systems, this paper proposes new switchable methods by modifying the nonlinear term in the system, resulting in a chaotic system with different nonlinear terms. The unknown parameters in the nonlinear term exhibit different numerical relationships under various combined conditions, and some parameters may tend towards positive infinity. The chaos characteristics are verified by applying a specific switching method to the unified chaotic system. The pseudo-randomness of the random sequence generated by the dissipative system is verified using the NIST test. Finally, the circuit simulation of the system under various switching conditions is performed by selecting different circuit components and adjusting the resistance values.The switching chaotic system is implemented physically on FPGA and breadboard, and the effectiveness of the system is verified.

Abstract:Based on passive theory,this paper studies a hybrid chaotic dynamical system from the mathematics perspective to implement the control of system stabilization.According to the Jacobian matrix of the nonlinear system,the stabilization control region is gotten.The controller is designed to stabilize fast the minimum phase Lorenz-Chen chaotic system after equivalently transforming from chaotic system to passive system.The simulation results show that the system not only can be controlled at the different equilibria,but also can be transformed between the different chaotic attractors.

Abstract:In this paper, a new method for controlling chaos is proposed, which is based on the parameter switching modulation. The chaotic Chua's circuit is controlled to its fixed point as well as nP periodic orbits by using switching modulation on one of its capacitor parameters. Experimental results of numerical simulation and circuit simulation have demonstrated that this method of chaos control is effective. Due to this method of controlling chaos the engineering application methods of Chua's circuit becomes richer.

Abstract:This paper presents an exponential synchronization scheme between two chaotic systems with different structures and parameters. A unified model consisting of a linear dynamic system and a bounded static nonlinear operator is employed to describe these totally different chaotic systems. A novel state feedback control law is established to exponentially synchronize the two unified models with different parameters. Most chaotic systems with different structures and parameters, such as Hopfield neural networks, cellular neural networks, Chua’s circuits, unified chaotic systems, Qi systems, and chaotic recurrent multilayer perceptrons, can be transformed into this unified model with the synchronization controller designed in a unified way. Two numerical examples are exploited to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design schemes.

Abstract:Based on geometric theory of nonlinear feedback control, a new method for synchronizing hyper-chaotic systems was put forward. After the prerequisite of an appropriate smooth vector field by virtue of multi-input and multi-output nonlinear differential geometry theory to assure the normalization of the receiver system was satisfied, then in terms of differences of outputs and their different orders derivatives of the transmitter and receiver, the synchronization error state equations were constructed. By pole assignment, a nonlinear controller for synchronizing the output signals of two higher chaotic systems was also given and extended to the whole or the part of the states of the two systems. As a result, numerical simulation of a coupled Chua' s circuit and its application in secure communication proved the efficency of the suggested methods.

Abstract:Control chaos of the Chen chaotic system was discussed by using the passive control theory. With the study of the property of passive system, the essential conditions under which the Chen chaotic system could be equivalent to a passive system via smooth state feedback were derived. It was found that the new system transformed by the Chen chaotic system, could be globally asymptotically stabilized at different equilibrium points, provided that suitable controllability-like rank conditions were satisfied. Simulation results indicated that the proposed chaos control method is very effective in Chen chaotic systems.

Abstract:This paper studies the synthesis and design problem of variable structure control for a linear discrete uncertain singular system with time-delays.Firstly,a new equivalent form of constrained system is developed and the system is decomposed into two low dimensional uncertain subsystems.Secondly,based on some results of the robust stability of discrete singular systems with time-delays,a switching function with difference compensator is designed,which guarantees that movement of the system is asymptotically stable in a quasi-switching manifold.Thirdly,a variable structure controller is designed,which can force the system trajectory either to arrive at the quasi-switching manifold in limited steps and ultimately slide to zero on the quasi-switching manifold or to enter into a small neighborhood of the quasi-switching manifold in limited steps and be convergent to a small chattering in the neighborhood.Finally,two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and practicability of the design method.

Abstract:In this paper, controlling chaos in the chaotic n-scroll Chua's circuit is studied. The approach taken is to use feedback of a single state variable in a simple PD (proportional and differential) format. First, the unstable fixed points in the n-scroll Chua's circuit are classified into two different types according to the characteristics of the eigenvalues of the linearized system matrix at the fixed points. Then, the controllability of these two-types of fixed points is studied. Theoretical analysis shows that the first type of unstable fixed points can be stabilized, at which Hopf bifurcation can also be generated. Control results of the n-scroll Chua's circuit are then demonstrated. Both theoretical analysis and numerical simulation results show that the proposed chaos control method is indeed effective.
