Abstract:This study uses fuzzy linear programming model, an extension of the general linear programming, to determine the optimal crop planning structure and a probability function is introduced in the model. Data come from a survey conducted in the major vegetable export-oriented regions of China. By computing the net income per unit area, we can obtain the optimal crop planning under different conditions, and the optimal net income. We find that the price fluctuations directly affect the change of planting structure and the adoption of bio-pesticides. Generally speaking, farmers' profitability is smaller when adopting bio-pesticides than when adopting chemical pesticides.
