Region-Based Interactive Pen-And-Ink Illustrations

Abstract:This paper presents a new semi-automatic brush-region-based system for generating pen-and-ink illustrations. The algorithm interactively partitions an object into several regions, and each region is automatically filled with a stroke texture. A novel texture model is designed to produce various hatching effects with some control parameters. The experimental results demonstrate that our system can efficiently produce pen-and-ink illustrations with little user interaction.
