Investigation of the k-Analogue of Gauss Hypergeometric Functions Constructed by the Hadamard Product

Abstract:Traditionally, the special function theory has many applications in various areas of mathematical physics, economics, statistics, engineering, and many other branches of science. Inspired by certain recent extensions of the k-analogue of gamma, the Pochhammer symbol, and hypergeometric functions, this work is devoted to the study of the k-analogue of Gauss hypergeometric functions by the Hadamard product. We give a definition of the Hadamard product of k-Gauss hypergeometric functions (HPkGHF) associated with the fourth numerator and two denominator parameters. In addition, convergence properties are derived from this function. We also discuss interesting properties such as derivative formulae, integral representations, and integral transforms including beta transform and Laplace transform. Furthermore, we investigate some contiguous function relations and differential equations connecting the HPkGHF. The current results are more general than previous ones. Moreover, the proposed results are useful in the theory of k-special functions where the hypergeometric function naturally occurs.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal{K}\left( x\right) $ be the complete elliptic integral of the first kind and \begin{equation*} \mathcal{G}_{p}\left( x\right) =e^{\mathcal{K}\left( \sqrt{x} \right) }-\frac{p}{\sqrt{1-x}} \end{equation*} for $p\in \mathbb{R}$ and $x\in \left( 0,1\right) $. In this paper we find the necessary and sufficient conditions for the functions $\pm \mathcal{G} _{p}^{\left( k\right) }\left( x\right) $ ($k\in \mathbb{N\cup }\left\{ 0\right\} $) to be absolutely monotonic on $\left( 0,1\right) $, which extend previous known results and yield several new functional inequalities involving the complete elliptic integral of the first kind. More importantly, we provide a new method to deal with those absolute monotonicity problem by proving the monotonicity of a sequence generated by the coefficients of the power series of $\mathcal{G}_{p}\left( x\right) $.

Abstract:Let k be a positive integer and p be a prime.We give some congruences involving the binomial coefficients((k+1)p-a)p-a),(kp-1p-a) with 1 ≤ a ≤ p-1 and （kp+p-1/2b±p-1/2±b),(kp-1p-1/2±b) with 0 ≤ b ≤ p-1/2.In particular,we get a generalization of Morley's congruence.Meanwhile,some congruences about the summation of ((k+1)p-ap-a) are obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the stabilizers of certain multisets $\mod p^k$ with respect to their natural multiplicative action, completely describing them for a certain family of polynomials whenever $p$ is an odd prime. This elucidates an underlying structure on the level of elements that yields a new proof of the classical Kummer Congruences. Hence the Kummer Congruences can be viewed as a consequence of putting together this local information, the interactions between which are understood. This gives a new perspective in that all known approaches are based directly on global considerations, namely either through global sum identities or $p$-adic integrals.

Abstract:In this technical report, certain interesting classification of arithmetical functions is proposed. The notion of additively decomposable and multiplicatively decomposable arithmetical functions is proposed. The concepts of arithmetical polynomials and arithmetical power series are introduced. Using these concepts, an interesting Theorem relating arithmetical power series and infinite products has been proved. Also arithmetical polynomials are related to probabilistic number theory. Furthermore some results related to the Waring problem are discussed.

Abstract:Using combinatorial techniques, we derive a recurrence identity that expresses an exponential power sum with negative powers in terms of another exponential power sum with positive powers. Consequently, we derive a formula for the power sum of the first $k$ natural numbers when the power is odd, which when used in combination with Faulhaber's formula for computing power sums helps us to retrieve the Bernoulli numbers in certain cases.

Abstract:Given the important role an asymptotic expansion of Whittaker functions or Shalika functions plays in the study of L -functions via the Rankin–Selberg method, we first establish an asymptotic expansion of ( k , c )-functions for over a p -adic field F via Casselman–Shalika's argument. As an application, we then show the holomorphy of Ginzburg–Kaplan's local "tensor product" L -functions for . In the appendix, following Wallach–Soudry's argument, we also provide an analogous asymptotic expansion of ( k , c )-functions for with F an Archimedean local field.

Abstract:In the theory of hypergeometric series and generalized hypergeometric series, classical summation theorems, such as the two of Gauss and those of Kummer and Bailey for the series 2F1; those of Watson, Dixon, Whipple, and Saalschutz for the series 3F2; and others, play a key role. Applications of these classical summation theorems are well known. Berndt pointed out that a large number of interesting summations (including Ramanujan's summations and the Gregory–Leibniz pi summation) can be obtained very quickly by employing the above-mentioned classical summation theorems. Also, several interesting results involving products of generalized hypergeometric series have been obtained by Bailey by employing the above-mentioned classical summation theorems. Recently, the above-mentioned classical summation theorems have been generalized and extended. In our present investigations, our aim is to demonstrate the applications of the extended Kummer's summation theorem in establishing (i) extensions of Gauss's second summation theorem and Bailey's summation theorem; (ii) extensions of several summations (including Ramanujan's summations); (iii) extensions of several results involving products of generalized hypergeometric series; and (iv) an extension of classical Dixon's summation theorem. As special cases, we recover several known summations (including several Ramanujan summations and the Gregory–Leibniz pi summation) and various results involving products of generalized hypergeometric series due to Bailey.

Abstract:The extended conformable k-hypergeometric function finds various applications in physics due to its ability to describe complex mathematical relationships arising in different physical scenarios. Here are a few instances of its uses in physics, including nuclear physics, fluid dynamics, quantum mechanics, and astronomy. The main objectives of this paper are to introduce the extended conformable k-hypergeometric and confluent hypergeometric functions by utilizing the new definition of the α,k -beta function and studying its important properties, like integral representation, summation formula, derivative formula, transform formula, and generating function. Also, introduce the extension of the Riemann–Liouville fractional derivative and establish some results related to the newly defined fractional operator, such as the Mellin transform and relations to extended α,k -hypergeometric functions.

Abstract:Around the early 2000-s, Bourgain, Katz and Tao introduced an arithmetic approach to study Kakeya-type problems. They showed that the Euclidean Kakeya conjecture follows from a natural problem in additive combinatorics, now referred to as the `Arithmetic Kakeya Conjecture'. We consider a higher dimensional variant of this problem and prove an upper bound using a certain iterative argument. The main new ingredient in our proof is a general way to strengthen the sum-difference inequalities of Katz and Tao which might be of independent interest. As a corollary, we obtain a new lower bound for the Minkowski dimension of $(n, d)$-Besicovitch sets.

Abstract:Let p be an odd prime, and let ∑n=0∞anXn∈Fp[[X]] be the reduction modulo p of the Artin-Hasse exponential series. We obtain a polynomial expression for akp in terms of those arp with r , for even k . A conjectural analogue covering the case of odd k can be stated in various polynomial forms, essentially in terms of the polynomial γ(X)=∑n=1p−2(Bn/n)Xp−n , where Bn denotes the n th Bernoulli number. We prove that γ(X) satisfies the functional equation γ(X−1)−γ(X)=£1(X)+Xp−1−wp−1 in Fp[X] , where £1(X) and wp are the truncated logarithm and the Wilson quotient. This is an analogue modulo p of a functional equation, in Q[[X]] , established by Zagier for the power series ∑n=1∞(Bn/n)Xn . The proof of our functional equation establishes a connection with a result of Nielsen of 1915, of which we provide a fresh proof. Our polynomial framing allows us to derive congruences for certain numerical sums involving divided Bernoulli numbers.

For example, for $\lambda=-1$ we obtain $$ {}_4F_3\bigg[\begin{matrix}\alpha&1+\frac{\alpha}{2}&\alpha&\alpha\\ &\frac{\alpha}{2}&1&1\end{matrix}\bigg|-1\bigg]_{p-1}\equiv\frac{\alpha+\langle-\alpha\rangle_p}{\Gamma_p(1+\alpha)\Gamma_p(1-\alpha)}\pmod{p^3}, $$ where $\langle x\rangle_p$ is the least nonnegative residue of $x$ modulo $p$ and $\Gamma_p$ is the well-known $p$-adic gamma function. As applications, we confirm several conjectures posed by Sun recently; for example, we determine $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}(-1)^k(2k+1)\sum_{j=0}^k\binom {-x}j^3\binom{x-1}{k-j}^3$$ modulo $p^2$ for any prime $p>3$ and $p$-adic integer $x$.

Abstract:For integer $k \geq 1$, let $S_k(n)$ denote the sum of the $k$th powers of the first $n$ positive integers $1^k + 2^k + \cdots + n^k$. In this paper, we derive a new formula expressing $2^{2k}$ times $S_{2k}(n)$ as a sum of $k$ terms involving the numbers in the $k$th row of the integer sequence A304330, which is closely related to the central factorial numbers of the second kind with even indices. Furthermore, we provide an alternative proof of Knuth's formula for $S_{2k}(n)$ and show that it can equally be expressed in terms of A304330. We also deduce the corresponding formulas for the odd-indexed power sums $S_{2k-1}(n)$. Finally, we determine the Faulhaber form of $S_{2k}(n)$ and $S_{2k+1}(n)$ in terms of the sequence A304330 and the Legendre-Stirling numbers of the first kind.
