Abstract:Based on the coincidence degree theory and its related continuation theorem as well as some a priori estimates, we explore the existence of positive periodic solutions of a class of neutral impulsive systems with infinitely distributed delay. Easily verifiable sufficient conditions were established.

Abstract:We study the following semilinear impulsive differential equation with delay: u′(t)+Au(t)=f(t,u(t),ut),t>0,t≠ti,u(s)=ϕ(s),s∈[−r,0],Δu(ti)=Ii(u(ti)),i=1,2,…,00 is a constant and ut(s)=u(t+s), s∈[−r,0]. Here, Δu(ti)=u(ti+)−u(ti−) constitutes an impulsive condition, which can be used to model more physical phenomena than the traditional initial value problems. We assume that f(t,u,w) is T-periodic in t and then prove with some compactness conditions that if solutions of the equation are ultimately bounded, then the differential equation has a T-periodic solution. The new results obtained here extend some results in this area for differential equations without impulsive conditions or without delays.

Abstract:By using the continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory, the existence of a positive periodic solution for the semi-ratio-dependent predator–prey system with nonmonotonic functional responses and time delay is established. Further, by constructing a Lyapunov functional, a set of easily verifiable sufficient conditions are derived for the uniqueness and global stability of positive periodic solutions to the system. Finally, some numerical simulations are carried out to support the theoretical analysis of the research.

Abstract:In this article we study the existence of positive periodic solutions for two types of second-order nonlinear neutral differential equation with infinite distributed delay. The main tool employed here is the Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem dealing with a sum of two mappings, one is a contraction and the other is completely continuous. The results obtained here generalize the work of Han and Ren (Nonlinear Anal, 70:1393–1406, 2009).

Abstract:This paper is devoted to investigating a class of stochastic neutral-type neural networks with delays. By using the fixed point theorem and the properties of neutral-type operator, we obtain the existence conditions for periodic solutions of stochastic neutral-type neural networks. Furthermore, we obtain the conditions for the exponential stability of periodic solutions using Gronwall-Bellman inequality and stochastic analysis technique. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the effectiveness and merits of the present results. Our results can be used to obtain the existence and exponential stability of periodic solution to the corresponding deterministic systems.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish the existence and stability of periodic solutions for neutral-type differential equations with piecewise impulses on time scales. We first obtain some sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique periodic solution by using the Banach contraction mapping principle. We also prove the existence of at least one periodic solution using the Schauder fixed point theorem. In addition, we establish the stability results based on the existence of periodic solutions. It is worth noting that the results of this paper are based on time scales, so that they are applicable to continuous, discrete, and other types of systems.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the impulsive effects on the stability of the zero solution of the linear neutral differential equations with variable delays. By transforming the equations into ones without impulses and using fixed point theory, some sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability and exponential stability of the zero solution are obtained. The paper extends and improves results on sufficient conditions obtained by Jin and Luo (2008) [17], and Ardjouni and Djoudi (2011) [18], which is shown clearly in Example 1. This paper also shows that the impulse intensity and the impulse time both influence the decay rate of the convergence to zero of the solutions. Finally, two examples are given to show applications of some results obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the existence of a periodic solution to the Cauchy problem for a class of impulsive differential equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces under general fading memory phase spaces satisfying a basic axiom. It is shown that the related Poincaré operator given by P(φ) = uT (φ) (i.e., T units along the unique solution u(φ) determined by the initial function φ ) is a condensing operator by virtue of the Kuratowski measure of non-compactness. Based on this result, we derive the existence of a periodic solution to the Cauchy problem with help of the boundedness of the solutions and three-set fixed point theorems. The main result in this paper extends the previous results for equations without impulsive conditions or in special Cg phase spaces. Finally, we give a remark on future developments of the related impulsive problems for fractional differential equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces.

Under assumptions that the nonlinearity is odd, differentiable at zero and satisfies the Nagumo condition, by applying the equivariant degree method, we prove that the delay equation admits multiple periodic solutions. The results are then illustrated by an example.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the existence of positive almost automorphic solutions to some nonlinear delay integral equations. We first establish a new fixed point theorem for mixed monotone operator in a cone, and then, with its help, we obtain existence theorems of positive almost automorphic solutions. Some examples are given to illustrate our results. As one will see, even in the case of almost periodicity, our theorems extend some earlier results, and moreover, the approach dealing with the integral equation arising in an epidemic problem in this paper is also new.
