Abstract:To the fuzzy linear system where the coefficients are fuzzy variables, the concepts of expected value solution, optimistic value solution and pessimistic value solution are introduced. Algorithms based on the fuzzy simulations are proposed, and an example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Abstract:In this paper, we first introduce the concept of the width function of a fuzzy number, and then a new algorithm model for solving fuzzy systems is designed which generalizes the ordinary elimination method. The conditions about the existence of (weak) fuzzy solutions to fuzzy systems are obtained. Finally, the corresponding results about the dual system are also obtained.

Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to solve a dual fuzzy linear system algebraically. In considered systems, the coefficient matrices are crisp-valued matrices and the left and right hand sides vectors are fuzzy number-valued vectors. Two types of solutions are defined and the relationship between them is investigated. Finally, based on the obtained results, a simple method is presented to obtain a unique algebraic solution of a dual fuzzy linear system. The main advantage of the proposed method over existing methods is that it does not need to convert a dual fuzzy linear system to two crisp linear systems. Also, a new necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of unique algebraic solution of a dual fuzzy linear system is presented. To illustrate our method, two numerical examples and an applied example in economy are given.

Abstract:Fuzzy systems of linear equations play a vital role in various applications of engineering, science and finance problems. This paper proposes a new method for solving Fully Fuzzy System of Linear Equations (FFSLE) using the linear programming problem approach. There is no restriction on the elements of coefficient matrix. The proposed method is able to solve the system, when the elements of the fuzzy unknown vector are both non-negative and non-positive. Triangular convex noimalized fuzzy sets are considered for the present analysis. Known example problems are solved and compared with the results of existing methods to illustrate the efficacy and reliability of the proposed method.

Abstract:In this paper, we present a tabu search technique to approximately solve fuzzy optimization problems. We demonstrate the performance of the proposed method by applying it to an elementary fuzzy optimization problem. Abstract:Since most time-dependent models may be represented as linear or non-linear dynamical systems, fuzzy linear matrix equations are quite general in signal processing, control and system theory. A uniform method of finding the classic solution of fuzzy linear matrix equations is presented in this paper. Conditions of solution existence are also studied here. Under the framework, a numerical method to solve fuzzy generalized Lyapunov matrix equations is developed. In order to show the validation and efficiency, some selected examples and numerical tests are presented.

Abstract:A fuzzy variable is a function from a possibility space to the set of real numbers, while a bifuzzy variable is a function from a possibility space to the set of fuzzy variables. In this paper, a concept of chance distribution is originally presented for bifuzzy variable, and the linearity of expected value operator of bifuzzy variable is proved. Furthermore, bifuzzy simulations are designed and illustrated by some numerical experiments.

Abstract:This contribution proposes a strategy for performing fuzzy analysis of linear static systems applying alpha-level optimization. In order to decrease numerical costs, full system analyses are replaced by a reduced order model that projects the equilibrium equations to a small-dimensional space. The basis associated with the reduced order model is constructed by means of a single analysis of the system plus a sensitivity analysis. This reduced basis is enriched as the alpha-level optimization strategy progresses in order to protect the quality of the approximations provided by the reduced order model. A numerical example shows that with the proposed strategy, it is possible to produce an accurate estimate of the membership function of the response of the system with a limited number of full system analyses.

Abstract:The idea of a fuzzy functional equation of the type Y = f(X1, X2,…, Xn, A1, A2,…, As) (where X1, X2,…, Xn, A1, A2,…, As are treated as fuzzy numbers) and the methods of its resolution are dealt with. It is shown that in the case of existence of A1, A2,…, As, satisfying the equation given above, the resolution problem is equivalent to the resolution of fuzzy relational equation of the type Y=A1∘A2∘⋯∘As∘R The idea of fuzzy functional equations generated by fuzzy relation is presented and the algorithm using the notion of probabilistic sets and leading to the resolution of fuzzy functional equations in the case of “noises” is given as well. Some numerical examples form an illustration of presented algorithms, pointing out there, the most characteristic features.

Abstract:We introduce an approach to defuzzify a general fuzzy quantity, a general fuzzy number is approximated to its nearest symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy number. With the help of the above method, a fuzzy linear programming is converted to a linear programming with symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy variables. Moreover, using ordering measures of symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, The fuzzy linear programming is turned into a classical multiple objective linear programming. Then, fuzzy optimal solutions of a fuzzy linear programming are obtained by solving the above multi-objective linear programming.

Abstract:The Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model provides an effective representation of complex nonlinear systems in terms of fuzzy sets and fuzzy reasoning applied to a set of linear input/output submodels. In the paper, the passivity and feedback passification of T-S fuzzy systems with given in terms of parameter uncertainties are considered. The theoretical results are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Numerical examples are given which illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Abstract:A kind of linearization method in fuzzy control system modeling is proposed, in order to deal with the nonlinear model with variable coefficients. The method can turn a nonlinear model with variable coefficients into a linear model with variable coefficients in the way that the membership functions of the fuzzy sets in fuzzy partitions of the universes are changed from triangle waves into rectangle waves. However, the linearization models are incomplete in their forms because of their lacking some items. For solving this problem, joint approximation by using linear models is introduced. The simulation results show that marginal linearization models are of higher approximation precision than their original nonlinear models.

Abstract:In this paper,new concepts of fuzzy vector,fuzzy-value function and fuzzy matrix are defined,respectively,to investigate a real equilibrium problem.Then a mathematical model,which turns out to be a fuzzy linear complementarity problem,is constructed to formulate the equilibrium problem.Based on the definition of expectation for a fuzzy number,and the analysis of the properties of the expectation,a deterministic equivalent formulation and a concept of equilibrium solution are presented for the original fuzzy complementarity problem.The model and the solution method are applied to a real problem,and it is shown that both of them are promising.

Abstract:System of fuzzy equations is a widespread problem in many applied fields such as resource management, production planning, optimization decision and artificial intelligence, in which, establishing general and operable solving methods has received a remarkable attention in academic circles. In this paper, using the structure feature of fuzzy number, we propose the concept of level effect function which can describe fuzziness consciousness, and establish a broad operable fuzzy metric based on level effect function; on the basis of essential characteristic of fuzzy decision, establish solution model based on metric and uncertainty restriction for system of fuzzy equations (denoted by M boxed plus U-FESM, for short); combining genetic algorithm and variance description strategy of principle index of fuzzy variable, give solution method based on genetic algorithm (denoted by PO-FGA, for short); finally, consider its convergence using Markov chain theory and analyze its performance through simulation.

Abstract:System of fuzzy equations is a widespread problem in many applied fields, such as production planning, resource management, optimization decision, and so on, and the variation description of fuzzy variables is the bottle neck problem of realizing solution operation. Starting from the structure-feature of fuzzy information and the essential characteristic of fuzzy decision, this paper proposes the concept of quasi-linear fuzzy number, and establishes a solution model based on metric and uncertainty restriction for system of fuzzy equations (denoted by FESM-M+U, for short); further, on the basis of quasi-linear fuzzy number and principle operation strategy, then gives a genetic algorithm named by FGA-QL+PO; finally, considers its convergence using Markov chain theory and analyzes its performance through an example. All these indicate that, FGA-QL+PO can not only effectively reflect decision consciousness, but has good global convergence, and be suitable for all systems of fuzzy equations, so it can be widely used in many problems.

Abstract:This paper investigates linear first-order fuzzy differential dynamical systems where the initial condition is described by a fuzzy number. We use a complex number representation of the α-level sets of the fuzzy system and prove theorems that provide the solutions under such representation, which is applicable to practical computations and also has some implications for theory. Then the paper shows some properties of the two-dimensional dynamical systems, and their phase portraits are described by means of examples. There may be a significant difference between the solutions according to whether the matrix is nonnegative or not; finally, the paper points out future research on the fuzzy dynamical systems.

Abstract:In the recent past numerous models and methods have been suggested to solve the vectormaximum problem. Most of these approaches center their attention on linear programming problems with several objective functions. Apart from these approaches the theory of fuzzy sets has been employed to formulate and solve fuzzy linear programming problems. This paper presents the application of fuzzy linear programming approaches to the linear vectormaximum problem. It shows that solutions obtained by fuzzy linear programming are always efficient solutions. It also shows the consequences of using different ways of combining individual objective functions in order to determine an “optimal” compromise solution.

Abstract:Many existing numerical methods of solving fuzzy linear systems are based on solving crisp extended linear systems. This paper is intended to propose a parallel numerical method to solve Drazin inverse solution of large scale fuzzy singular linear systems. Our numerical tests show that the parallel numerical method is useful and superior to the method of computing the extended crisp linear systems.

Abstract:This paper investigates the first order linear fuzzy differential dynamical systems with fuzzy matrices. We use a complex number representation of the α-level sets of the fuzzy system, and obtain the solution by employing such representation. It is applicable to practical computations and has also some implications for the theory of fuzzy differential equations. We then present some properties of the 2-dimensional dynamical systems and their phase portraits. Some examples are considered to show the richness of the theory and we can clearly see that new behaviors appear. We finally present some conclusions and new directions for further research in the area of fuzzy dynamical systems.
