Abstract:Novel ferrocenyl-containing thiazole derivatives have been synthesized from 2-amino-4-ferrocenyl-5-(1H-1,2,4-triazole-1-yl)-1,3-thiazole and substituted benzoyl chloride. The structures of these compounds have been characterized by H-1 NMR, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction analysis. Evaluation of anticancer activities showed that some of them possessed some degree of anticancer activity.

Abstract:Fifteen new ferrocene derivatives containing 1H-1,2,4-triazole moiety were synthesized in various yields by the condensation of ferrocenecarboxaldehyde with 1-aryl-3-(1H-1,2,4-triazo-1-yl)-propen-1-ones in toluene. Their structures have been confirmed by H-1 NMR, IR, MS and elemental analysis. In addition, the crystal structure of 41 was determined. Abstract:A series of novel 1-ferrocenyl-2-(3-phenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ylthio)ethanone derivatives was synthesized by the reaction of 3-substituted-1H-1,2,4-triazole-5-thiol and chloroacetyl ferrocene in the presence of sodium hydride and potassium iodide at reflux. The structures of the new compounds were determined by IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy and HRMS. The structure of compound 5c was established by X-ray crystallography. UV–vis absorption and fluorescence spectra were recorded in ethanol and dichloromethane. The results showed that compounds 5a–g display similar absorptions ranging from 300 to 500nm and maximal emission bands are about 566nm. The intensity of fluorescence and maximal emission bands are dependent on the groups bonded to triazole rings.

Abstract:Several new 6-(1-aryl-5-methyl-1, 2, 3-triazol-4-yl)-3-(4-pyridyl)-s-triazolo[3,4-b]-1, 3, 4-thiadiazoles 3a-j have been synthesized by the condensation of 4-amino-5-mercapto-3-(4-pyridyl)-1, 2, 4-triazole 2 with 1-aryl-4-carboxy-5-methyl-1, 2, 3-triazoles 1a-j in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride. The structures of the products obtained are characterized by elemental analyses and spectral data and the fragmentation pattern of the mass spectra of 3a-j is discussed. 3a-j have been screened for their antibacterial activity against B. subtilis and E. coli.

Abstract:A total of eleven new 1-(1-methoxy-1-ferrocenyl-3-arylpropan-2-yl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole derivatives have been synthesized from acetylferrocene. The structures of the title compounds have been determined by elemental analysis, 1 H-NMR and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Bioassay showed that some of the title compounds had high plant-growth regulatory activity.

Abstract:Condensation of the prepared formyl ferrocene 6 with hydroxylammonium chloride gave ferrocenyl oxime 7, which was dehydrated to produce ferrocenyl nitrile 8. This nitrile was converted to new ferrocenyl tetrazol (9) using (n-C4H9)(3)SnCl and NaN3. In the presence of toluene-4-sulfonic acid (PTSA) the reaction between formyl ferrocene 6 and trimethyl orthoformate gave dimethyl acetal 10. Transacetalization of acetal 10 with (R)-(-)-3-chloro-1,2-propanediol furnished new ferrocenyl acetal 12, which was converted to ferrocenyl acetal 13 by a reaction with NaN3. The new ferrocenyl acetal 15 was obtained by a reaction of acetal 10 with (R)-(-)-1-methoxy-2,3-propanediol (14), which was obtained by a reaction of (R)-(-)-3-chloro-1,2-propanediol with CH3OH in the presence of NaOH. All of these new compounds were characterized by MS, H-1 NMR and IR spectra.

Abstract:A series of novel 5-alkyl-2-ferrocenyl-6,7-dihydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrazin-4(5H)-one derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of ethyl 1-(2-bromoethyl)-3-ferrocenyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylate with non-aromatic primary amines in one-pot procedure and characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HRMS and X-ray diffraction analysis. The effects of all the compounds on A549 cell growth were investigated. The results showed that all compounds had almost inhibitory effects on the growth of A549 cells.

Abstract:Reaction of 1,1′-bis[carbonyl isothiocyanate]ferrocene with 1,2-phenylenediamine affords both polymeric and macrocyclic products. The structure of the macrocyclic product was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and compared with those of other ferrocene-containing acyl thiourea derivatives obtained previously.

Abstract:A series of novel 5-aryl-1-arylthiazolyl-3-ferrocenyl-pyrazoline derivatives has been synthesized by the reaction of ferrocenyl chalcone and thiosemicarbazide followed by the reaction with 2-bromo-1-arylethanone in 48–90% yields. The compounds were characterized using IR, 1H NMR and HRMS and X-ray diffraction analysis. The absorption and fluorescence characteristics of the compounds were investigated in dichloromethane, chloroform and tetrahydrofuran. The results showed that the absorption maxima of the compounds vary from 316 to 347nm depending on the group bonded to phenylthiazole rings. The electron-donating methoxyl group in phenylthiazole moiety caused red shifts in dichloromethane solution, and the electron-withdrawing chloro group resulted in blue shifts. The absorption maxima of these compounds in tetrahydrofuran were red shift compared with that in dichloromethane and chloroform. The maximum emission spectra of compounds in tetrahydrofuran were also red shift compared with that in dichloromethane.

Abstract:Two novel ester ferrocenophanes have been prepared by esterification of 1,1′-ferrocenedi(carbonyl chloride) with glycol and 1,4-butanediol, respectively. Both of them have been characterized by IR, elemental analysis, MALDI-TOF MS and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods, and their structures have been elucidated by X-ray diffraction. The intermolecular associations based on C-H···O hydrogen bonds have also been discussed. These molecules are assembled into chains, and the chains are further assembled into a 3D structure through several hydrogen bonds.

Abstract:alpha-Haloacetylferrocene and alpha-triazolylacetylferrocene have been prepared from acetylferrocene and they have proved to be useful building blocks for the synthesis of ferrocenyl propenone. Two new types of ferrocenyl vinyl triazole compound, (ZE)-ferrocenyl-[1-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-2-phenyl]-vinylones, have been synthesized and their structures characterized by crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It has been shown for the first time that ferrocene, as an organometallic compound, has been introduced into bioactive triazole compounds in search of potent bioactive substances. Abstract:In search of potent fungicidal agents, the title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C17H12N5S)], has been synthesized and its crystal structure determined. The dihedral angles between the planes of the phenyl and thiazole rings and between the thiazole and triazole rings are 42.19 (13) and 81.15 (12)°, respectively.

Abstract:A series of new chiral 2(5H)-furanone derivatives containing bis-1,2,3-triazole moiety were designed and synthesized from (5S)-5-alkoxy-3,4-dihalo-2(5H)-furanones 1, dicarboxyl amino acids 2, propargyl bromide, and organic azides 5 under mild conditions via the sequential three steps, including asymmetric Michael addition-elimination, substitution and no-ligand click reaction. Twelve new intermediates, including N-[5-alkoxy-2(5H)-furanonyl] dicarboxyl amino acids 3 and their corresponding propargyl esters 4, and twelve target molecules 6 were characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS and elemental analysis. The influences of different synthetic conditions and substrates in each step were investigated. The research provides a new method and idea for the synthesis of 2(5H)-furanone compounds with polyheterocyclic structure due to the diversities of four basic unit molecules.
