Abstract:AbstractThe reaction of m‐chlorobenzaldoxime dehydrodimer with styrene gives two 1:1 adducts. The main product 7 is a bisnitrone. The minor product 8 has been shown by X‐ray diffraction analysis to possess the structure: ArCH(NO)CH2CH (Ph)ONCHAr. The two CN bonds are all in Z configuration. The structure of the adducts from benzaldoxime dehydrodimer and styrene is also assigned.

Abstract:A highly regio-and stereoselective Pd-catalyzed cascade reaction of allenoate adducts has been developed. Various allenoate adducts of phosphine-catalyzed addition of allenoates are found to be efficient substrates for the preparation of 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran. It is the first example of allenoate adducts used as ideal and practical precursors of hard-to-get functionalized 1,3-butadienes for heterocycle synthesis.

Abstract:The reactions of dipolarophiles with arenealdoxime dehydrodimers 1 have been studied. The reaction products depend upon the dipolarophile used. The reactions of 1 with styrene afford linear adducts. Active dipolarophiles, such as methyl acrylate and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate, lead to 1,3-cycloaddition products. The possible mechanisms for both cases are discussed.

Abstract:To study the intramolecular Diels-Alder cycloadditon of 2H-chromen-2-one as a diene, a series of chiral N-allyl-N-benzylamides that contain a 2H-chromen-2-one moiety were designed for the synthesis of benzo[f]isoindol-1-ones via an intramolecular Diels-Alder and a subsequent retro-Diels-Alder cycloaddition with the expulsion of CO2. Both the yield (80%-89%) and absolute stereocontrol of the tandem reaction were high when an electron-withdrawing group was attached to the dienophile. The double bond in the styrene substructure remained in the products could be further derivatized by dihydroxylation. Abstract:A series of epoxide compounds catalyzed by TMSCl are synthesized by Darzens condensation reaction of aldehydes and α-bromo ketones in the presence of Mg and ethanol.The structure of the products are characterized by IR,1HNMR and 13CNMR.The reaction has the advantage of simple working-up procedure,mild reaction conditions,excellent yields and meets the requirements of green chemistry.

Abstract:2:1 adducts arise from the reaction of 2,5-diaryl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles and benzynes generated from the hexadehydro-Diels-Alder (HDDA) reaction. Density functional theory computations support a mechanistic manifold that includes a concerted S(N)Ar process. Additionally, the benzyne trapping reaction of 2,5-dimethyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole affords an unusual acylimine-containing 2:1 adduct, which is the first case in which a dearomatized product has arisen from a HDDA reaction.

Abstract:AbstractReaction of 2, 3‐dihydro‐1H‐1. 5‐benzodiazepines with dichlorocarbene generated in situ using benzyltriethylammonium chloride (TEBA) as a phase transfer catalyst in chloroform‐aqueous sodium hydroxide mixture gave mainly 1,2‐cycloadducts, cis and trans‐1a, 3‐disubstituted‐1, 1‐dichloro‐1a, 2,3,4‐tetrahydro‐1H‐azirino[1,2‐a][1,5]benzodiazepines (2.3), and formylated 1,2‐cycloadducts, trans‐1a,3‐disubstituted‐1, 1‐dichloro‐4‐formyl‐1a, 2, 3, 4–1 H‐azirino[1, 2‐a][1, 5]benzodiacepines (4). The stereo‐structures of cycloadducts and the mechanism are also discussed.

Abstract:3-(Methoxycarbonyl)-2-halo-1,3(Z)-dienes were prepared highly stereoselectively via S(N)2'-type addition-elimination reactions of 3-(methoxycarbonyl)-1,2-allen-4-ols with MX. These products may easily undergo Negishi or Sonogashira coupling reactions to yield a series of stereodefined polysubstituted (E)-1,3-dienes.

Abstract:A catalyst-free 1,2-difunctionalization of 1,3-dienes with CHCl3 and TBHP in the presence of NEt3 to give the dichloromethylhydroxylation products was developed. Various substituents on the aryl ring of dienes tolerated the reactions and gave the corresponding products in moderate to good yields. When Na2CO3 was employed as the base, the key intermediate α-amino radical could not be formed, therefore, 1,2-peroxyhydroxylation products were obtained instead. This protocol provides an effective and functional group tolerant strategy for diene 1,2-difunctionalization, thus providing great potential for further functionalization and modification of synthetic molecules.

Abstract:p-Chlorobenzaldoxime dehydrodimer, which decomposed to iminoxy radicals on heating, reacts with substituted phenols giving acetylamino, t-butylt dimethyl, methoxy and phenyl substituted 2-(4'-chlorophenyl) benzoxazole derivatives. From 1- or 2-naphthol, 8-hydroxyquinoline and bisphenol A, 2 (4' -chlorophenyl) naphth [2, 1-d]oxazole(6), 2-(4'-chlorophenyl) naphth [1, 2-d]oxazole(5), 2-(4'-chlorophenyl) oxazolo [4, 5-h]quinoline (7) and 2, 2-bis [5'-(2'-(4"-chlorophenyl) benzoxazolyl)]-propane(8) were obtained. This is a new kind of radical substitution reaction. And a mechanism of the reaction is proposed.

Abstract:Highly enantioselective catalytic conjugate additions of 3-substituted benzofuran-2(3H)-ones to 1,1-bis(phenylsulfonyl)ethylene in the presence of catalysts based on Cinchona alkaloids and containing tertiary amine and thiourea groups have been developed. Good to excellent stereoselectivities (up to 99?% ee) could be achieved. An interesting effect of substituent positions on stereoselectivities was observed, and a theoretical study to explain this phenomenon was undertaken.

Abstract:The chemoselectivity in the reaction of 2-diazo-3-oxo-3-phenylpropanal (1) with aldehydes and ketones in the presence of Et3N was investigated. The results indicate that 1 reacts with aromatic aldehydes with weak electron-donating substituents and cyclic ketones under formation of 6-phenyl-4H-1,3-dioxin-4-one derivatives. However, it reacts with aromatic aldehydes with electron-withdrawing substituents to yield 1,3-diaryl-3-hydroxypropan-1-ones, accompanied by chalcone derivatives in some cases. It did not react with linear ketones, aliphatic aldehydes, and aromatic aldehydes with strong electron-donating substituents. A mechanism for the formation of 1,3-diaryl-3-hydroxypropan-1-ones and chalcone derivatives is proposed. We also tried to react 1 with other unsaturated compounds, including various olefins and nitriles, and cumulated unsaturated compounds, such as N,N-dialkylcarbodiimines, phenyl isocyanate, isothiocyanate, and CS2. Only with N,N-dialkylcarbodiimines, the expected cycloaddition took place.

Abstract:A [2+2] cycloaddition adduct 2 and a novel ring-opening product 3 were obtained from the reactions of 2,3-benzothiazepines 1 with dichloroacetyl chloride and triethylamine. The relative ratios of 2 and 3 were affected by the addition order of reactants and reaction temperature. The structures were determined by spectral data and the reaction mechanisms for the formation of 2 and 3 were elucidated.

Abstract:Benzylation of the electrochemically generated dianion from N-p-tolyl-[60]fullerooxazolidinone with benzyl bromide provides three products with different addition patterns. The product distribution can be dramatically altered by varying the reaction conditions. Based on spectral characterizations, these products have been assigned as mono-benzylated 1,4-adduct and bis-benzylated 1,2,3,16- and 1,4,9,25-adducts, respectively. The assigned 1,2,3,16-adduct has been further established by X-ray diffraction analysis. It is believed that the 1,4-adduct is obtained by decarboxylative benzylation of the dianionic species, while bis-benzylated 1,2,3,16- and 1,4,9,25-adducts are achieved via a rearrangement process. In addition, the electrochemical properties of these products have been studied.
