Abstract:This paper conducts a research on consumers' purchase intention of "Eco-Labeled" which are virtually inexistent in the market currently and factors influencing the purchase intention. Based on the Random Utility Model in economics and the Theory of Planned Behavior in social psychology, a comprehensive framework including both economic and psychological factors is set to better understand the consumer purchase intention. This paper makes an empirical analysis using the ordered logit model with data from the survey of Beijing consumers in November, 2009. The results show that both economic factors and psychological factors significantly and strongly affect the purchase intention of Eco-Labeled fish products, which reflects the comprehensive analytical framework has better explanatory power and effectiveness in contrast with the single subject. In economic factors, consumers are more willing to purchase if they perceive a lower price level and have a higher income level. While, in psychological factors, consumers with more positive attitudes, more favorable subjective norms and stronger perceived control have a higher intention level. These results may offer useful reference to public policies and marketing strategies.
