Abstract:To realize integration between context and other components of Knowledge Management (KM), a model of Knowledge Management Integrating Context (KMIC) was proposed. This model was composed of four main KM components: knowledge context, knowledge process, knowledge (item) and knowledge agent. The modeling methods for these components and the relationships among them were described. The architecture of KMIC-based KM system was constructed. In this architecture, KMIC index base, KMIC service, KMIC engine were introduced to deal with the context and its relevant information to endow KM system with context sensitivity. Finally, the benefits from the applications of KMIC and KMIC-based system in KM were analyzed and suggested.

Abstract:With the rapid development of knowledge economy, knowledge management and share have become the main impetus of enterprise development. For virtual enterprise has the features such as knowledge intense, dynamics and flexibility, knowledge management of it has much more difficulties and higher requirements than those of the traditional enterprise. On the basis of analyzing the features of knowledge management in virtual enterprise, a new model of knowledge management system based on multi-agent and mobile agent technologies has been set up in the paper, and several different kinds of agents which undertake different tasks have been designed. The architecture of the model has higher flexibility and can adequately meet the demands of cooperating and harmonizing among members of virtual enterprises. A prototype system based on the model has been developed and some of tests have been done on it. The results of tests show that the efficiencies of the whole enterprise have been improved after using the knowledge management system. The model presented in the paper will provide some good reference to the construction of knowledge management in virtual enterprise.

Abstract:Representing knowledge with the use of ontology description languages offers several advantages arising from knowledge reusability, possibilities of carrying out reasoning processes and the use of existing concepts of knowledge integration. In this work we are going to present an environment for the integration of knowledge expressed in such a way. Guaranteeing knowledge integration is an important element during the development of the Semantic Web. Thanks to this, it is possible to obtain access to services which offer knowledge contained in various distributed databases associated with semantically described web portals. We will present the advantages of the multi-agent approach while solving this problem. Then, we will describe an example of its application in systems supporting company management knowledge in the process of constructing supply-chains.

Abstract:In this paper the model of the distributed decision support system with task oriented learning function is proposed. This model is composed of local subsystems which are constructed based on the multi-agent technology to ensure its independence and cooperation ability. This structure can satisfy the local application and, by cooperating with other agents, it can also satisfy the global application. The task oriented learning function allows the system to obtain the needed knowledge to improve the decision-making ability. The knowledge discovery in database technique is a main tool for knowledge acquisition so that the system can explore useful rules from the enterprise database timely. Knowledge acquisition agents in different subsystems can exchange knowledge through the Internet and this improves the efficiency of knowledge acquisition. Knowledge valuation is considered in this model. Genetic algorithms, neural networks and graph theory based algorithms are also adopted to reinforce the knowledge base.

Abstract:The use of agents across diverse domains within computer science and artificial intelligence is experiencing a notable surge in response to the imperatives of adaptability, efficiency, and scalability. The subject of this study is the application of formal methods to furnish a framework for knowledge interpretation with a specific focus on the agent-based paradigm in software engineering. This study aims to advance a formal approach to knowledge interpretation by leveraging the agent-based paradigm. The objectives are as follows: 1) to examine the current state of the agent-based paradigm in software engineering; 2) to describe the basic concepts of the knowledge interpretation approach; 3) to study the general structure of the rule extraction task; 4) to develop the reference structure of knowledge interpretation; 5) to develop a multi-agent system architecture; 6) and to discuss the research results. This study employs formal methods, including the use of closed path rules and predicate logic. Specifically, the integration of closed path rules contributes to the extraction and explication of facts from extensive knowledge bases. The obtained results encompass the following: 1) a rule mining approach grounded in closed path rules and tailored for processing extensive datasets; 2) a formalization of relevance that facilitates the scrutiny and automated exclusion of irrelevant fragments from the explanatory framework; and 3) the realization of a multi-agent system predicated on the synergy among five distinct types of agents, dedicated to rule extraction and the interpretation of acquired knowledge. This paper provides an example of the application of the proposed formal tenets, demonstrating their practical context. The conclusion underscores that the agent-based paradigm, with its emphasis on decentralized and autonomous entities, presents an innovative framework for handling the intricacies of knowledge processing. It extends to the retrieval of facts and rules. By distributing functions across multiple agents, the framework offers a dynamic and scalable solution to effectively interpret vast knowledge repositories. This approach is particularly valuable in scenarios where traditional methods may struggle to cope with the volume and complexity of information.

Abstract:Though there are many projects focusing on multiagent systems, there are only a few focusing on systematic design of large-scale multi-agent system. Electronic commerce is an example of such systems. In this project, we introduce a model and devise an implementation for the large-scale knowledge sharing using Bayesian networks, game theory and network security. The agent model for the system components blends the traditional expert systems ' reasoning engine with a multi-layer knowledge base, communication and documentation engines. Electronic commerce (EC) is a potential application for such a system. Furthermore, a knowledge management system model about distributed data mining system based on multi-agent system is brought forward for the system distributed geographically and logically, in which the problem how to mining a large amount of distributed data can be solved. Abstract:To solve new problems and difficulties faced in the process of knowledge management implementation in enterprises,the method of Knowledge Management Integrating Context(KMIC) was proposed,which integrated context with knowledge and knowledge processes through contextualization.Key technologies,including the construction technology of knowledge integration context model,context identification acquisition technology and context integration knowledge search retrieval technology,were studied to realize the KMIC method.With the support of these methods and technologies,a context-aware KMIC system was constructed,and a case was given to illustrate the application of this system.

Abstract:Multi-agent system is a distributed processing system which needs an opened and dynamic knowledge collaborative architecture to acquire, share and reuse knowledge. To solve those problems, this paper presented a distributed knowledge intelligence collaborative processing model which uses ontology to build knowledge processing architecture and to integrate domain knowledge distributed on different systems. A medical application model using ontology was presented. It is clear that the model, using ontology to access, reuse, share and organize domain knowledge, can reduce the complexity of distributed knowledge interaction and enhance the merge and cooperation of heterogeneous knowledge sources.

Abstract:Aiming at quick and proper reuse of existing knowledge in enterprises,a new idea was advanced that separated the business logic of knowledge management from the transactions of knowledge process.Furthermore,an agile knowledge reuse model based on multi-Agent and knowledge service was constructed and agile knowledge reuse system was defined.To realize the agile transference of knowledge service,a rule-coordination mode based on multi-Agent was established through study on the rule model of business logic and the activity-action model of the software Agent.In this way,the dynamic reuse of knowledge and the dynamic regrouping of knowledge using process reuse could be supported effectively,the process-distribution capability and extensible function of knowledge management system could also be increased.Finally,a case study was given to illustrate the application of this model.

Abstract:Recently both industrial and academic researches show great interest in knowledge management. However, users still find it hard to obtain a suitable knowledge management tool that fits for their needs. Although business requirements always change, current software systems still cannot be adapted to these changes quickly. In this paper, a framework is put forward to facilitate the design of an adaptive knowledge management system. In this framework, the structural knowledge modeling is combined with processes, which are used for ensuring the quality of knowledge acquisition in the framework. Two kinds of spaces, knowledge space and process space, and a knowledge state model are introduced. Finally, application systems based on this framework, which are being used in three real business enterprises for controlling life cycle of knowledge management in China, are discussed.

Abstract:A system framework for knowledge and information acquisition of manufacturing grid(MG) was researched based on the characteristics of MG resources.Several definitions about MG and Agent were presented and the relationships in MG nodes and a process model for resource knowledge and information of MG were described.Several key technologies for an Agent frame,communications of MG and Agents,a MG middleware and MG security in the construction of MG system were depicted.A structure model of knowledge and information acquisition in MG resources and its simple mathematics model were established.A system structure for knowledge and information acquisition of MG resource was presented according to the structure model,and an example proved the feasibility of the system structure.

Abstract:The amount of information available via networks and databases highlights the limited assistance of existing search and retrieval engines in locating relevant information. Owing to the rising demand for information retrieval, manufacturers employ various search techniques to provide a more satisfied information retrieval performance in its domain. As a knowledge-intensive activity, a product development team seeks a more effective knowledge search to achieve competitive advantage. This paper proposes a knowledge search methodology using autonomous, intelligent agents to transform passive search and retrieval engines into active, personal assistants for the product development process. The combination of effective information retrieval techniques and autonomous, intelligent agents will improve the performance of short-term information retrieval in existing search or retrieval engines. Results of the research project will be presented and discussed. This includes a multi-agent approach for knowledge search, the selection of agent construction tools, and the current implementation of the proposed methodology.

Abstract:As in a famous saying: "Knowledge comes from practice and should return to practice", knowledge is closely related to business process where it is used and created. In this part, WFMS (Workflow management system), as a system for business process definition, execution and management, plays an import role in KM (knowledge management): a big knowledge consumer and an important knowledge provider. But now the standard workflow technology has very few knowledge considerations. In this paper, after analyzing the relation among knowledge and WFMS, a new architecture for their integration is proposed. Considering the implementation of this architecture, one of the key points, the extended workflow model is studied.
