Abstract:A series of 2-styryl-beta-naphthathiazole dyes were synthesized in high yields by the reaction of 2-methyl-beta-naphthathiazole with aromatic aldehydes in the presence of aqueous sodium hydroxide under microwave irradiation. The products were identified by H-1 NMR, MS, IR, UV-vis spectra and elemental analysis.
