Abstract:Three pilot-scale aerated static fermentation experiments, in which the mushroom residue was used as raw material and swine manure as regulate material with different ratio, were carried out in this paper. The aerobic fermentation temperature distribution and the heat transfer characteristic of the stack was studied for each sample, which showed a prolonged temperature rise period and an increased high temperature duration time with the increase of swine manure, while the maximum temperature decreased and the heat transfer coefficient of the aerobic fermentation reduced. Obviously temperature gradient was detected for all three samples at different height, while the temperature contour showed similar pattern, i.e., maximum in the middle and decreases with increasing radius. Considering 46 degrees C as the threshold value of harmlessness, it can be found that the valid area of the three samples are basically the same, that is, 200mm above the bottom, 150mm below the top, and 150mm away from the reactor wall. Comparing the composting time and harmless radiation area, it can be concluded that best fermentation effect can be achieved with a swine manure proportion of 15%.
