Abstract:Abnormal long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) participate in the generation and progression of malignancies. We aimed to determine the expression and clinical importance of lncRNA ENST433110 in thyroid cancer (TC). We thus investigated the role of ENST433110 in TC cell invasion, migration, and proliferation. ENST433110 expression was assessed using RT-PCR, cell migration was evaluated using a Transwell assay, and cell apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry. Our findings revealed that ENST433110 expression was dramatically reduced in TC sample tissues and TC cells (B-CPAP and TPC-1). Moreover, we showed that lncRNA ENST433110 overexpression inhibited cell migration and proliferation in TC cells. Furthermore, lncRNA ENST433110 overexpression enhanced cell apoptosis and induced a noticeable reduction in Bcl-2 expression and an increase in BAX expression in both TPC-1 and B-CPAP cells compared with that in control groups. In summary, our results indicate that lncRNA ENST433110 is important in the development of thyroid carcinoma and could thus be a promising target in thyroid carcinoma treatment.
