Abstract:The second-type derivative nonlinear Schrödinger (DNLSII) equation was introduced as an integrable model in 1979. Very recently, the DNLSII equation has been shown by an experiment to be a model of the evolution of optical pulses involving self-steepening without concomitant self-phase-modulation. In this paper the n-fold Darboux transformation (DT) T_n of the coupled DNLSII equations is constructed in terms of determinants. Comparing with the usual DT of the soliton equations, this kind of DT is unusual because T_n includes complicated integrals of seed solutions in the process of iteration. By a tedious analysis, these integrals are eliminated in T_n except the integral of the seed solution. Moreover, this T_n is reduced to the DT of the DNLSII equation under a reduction condition. As applications of T_n, the explicit expressions of soliton, rational soliton, breather, rogue wave and multi-rogue wave solutions for the DNLSII equation are displayed.

Abstract:A nonlocal derivative nonlinear Schrodinger equation is introduced. By constructing its basic Darboux transformations of degrees one and two, the explicit expressions of new solutions are derived from seed solutions by Darboux transformation of degree 2n. Usually the derived solutions of this nonlocal equation may have singularities. However, by suitable choice of eigenvalues and the parameters describing the ratio of the two entries of the solutions of the Lax pair, global bounded solutions of the nonlocal derivative nonlinear Schrodinger equation are obtained from zero seed solution by a Darboux transformation of degree 2n.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to study vector nonlocal reverse-time NLS (nonlinear Schrödinger) equations and present a binary Darboux transformation by utilizing two sets of eigenfunctions and adjoint eigenfunctions. A product of N single binary Darboux transformations is explored for the resultant binary Darboux transformation. A class of soliton solutions is generated by an application starting from the zero seed potential.

According to this Darboux transformation, the solutions of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation are reduced to solving a Linear algebraic system, from which a unified and explicit formulation of N-soliton solutions with multiparameters for the nonlinear Schrodinger equation is given.

Abstract:<p>In this paper, we mainly investigate two-fold Darboux transformation and N-fold Darboux transformation in terms of ratio of ordinary determinant for the (2+1)-dimensional nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger-Maxwell-Bloch equations with reverse-space. It should be mentioned that the questions of one-fold Darboux transformation addressed, results of one-fold Darboux transformation proved, as well as style of analysis borrow heavily, but the determinant representation involved to cope with higher-order Darboux transformation is nontrivial. By utilizing symbolic computation, some explicit solutions including periodic waves solutions, soliton solutions and complexion solutions are obtained for two-fold Darboux transformation. Choosing particular parameters, figures are plotted to show the propagations and interactions of various types of solitons, such as periodic waves, bright soliton, dark soliton, antidark soliton, two-peak bright soliton, two-peak dark soliton and two-peak antidark soliton.</p>

Abstract:The Darboux transformation (DT) formulae for the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger (DNLS) equation are expressed in concise forms, from which the multi-solitons, n -periodic solutions, higher-order hybrid-pattern solitons and some mixed solutions are obtained. These complex excitations can be constructed thanks to more general semi-degenerate DTs. Even the nondegenerate N -fold DT with a zero seed can generate complicated n -periodic solutions. It is proved that the solution q [ N ] at the origin depends only on the summation of the spectral parameters. We find the maximum amplitudes of several classes of the wave solutions are determined by the summation. Many interesting phenomena are discovered from these new solutions. For instance, the interactions between n -periodic waves produce peaks with different amplitudes and sizes. A soliton on a single-periodic wave background shares a similar feature as a breather due to the interference of the periodic background. In addition, the results are extended to the reverse-space-time DNLS equation.

Abstract:Based on the generalized Darboux transformation, the underlying propagation mechanism of localized waves is systematically studied. More specifically, the variable-coefficient coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation is used to accurately describe the dispersion compensation and lumped amplification properties in an inhomogeneous optical fiber. Based on the Lax pair and the seed solutions, the expressions of both the first- and second-order localized wave solutions are calculated. Then, by performing numerical simulations, the evolutionary plots of the interaction of rogue waves with bright-dark solitons and breathers are obtained, and their dynamical characteristics are further analyzed. From the acquired results, it is found that the values of βz$$\beta \left( z \right) $$ and γz$$\gamma \left( z \right) $$ have a direct influence on the propagation shape of the localized waves. Our work provides valuable insights into the dynamical characteristics of the localized waves that the variable-coefficient equations could describe to a certain extent.

Abstract:From a spectral problem and corresponding Lenard operator pairs, we derive a Dirac soliton hierarchy associated with a nonlinear Dirac system. A systematic method is proposed for constructing the N-fold Darboux transformation of the Dirac system based on its Lax pair. As an application of Darboux transformation, explicit soliton solutions of the Dirac system are given.

It is integrable and has a non-isospectral Lax representation. In this paper, the Darboux transformation (DT) for the ML-II equation is constructed. Abstract:For the nonlocal Davey–Stewartson I equation, the Darboux transformation is considered and explicit expressions of the solutions are obtained. Like other nonlocal equations, many solutions of this equation may have singularities. However, by suitable choice of parameters in the solutions of the Lax pair, it is proved that the solutions obtained from seed solutions which are zero and an exponential function of t, respectively, by a Darboux transformation of degree n are global solutions of the nonlocal Davey–Stewartson I equation. The derived solutions are soliton solutions when the seed solution is zero, in the sense that they are bounded and have n peaks, and “dark cross soliton” solutions when the seed solution is an exponential function of t, in the sense that they are bounded and their norms change fast along some crossing straight lines.

Abstract:We construct arbitrary-order Darboux transformations for Schrodinger equations with energy-dependent potential and position-dependent mass within the Dunkl formalism. Our construction is based on a point transformation that interrelates our equations with the standard Schrodinger case. We apply our method to generate several solvable Dunkl-Schrodinger equations.

Abstract:In the first part of the paper we present the dressing method which generates multi-soliton solutions to integrable systems of nonlinear partial differential equations. We compare the approach of Neugebauer with that of Zakharov, Shabat and Mikhailov. In both cases we discuss the group reductions and reductions defined by some multilinear constraints on matrices of the linear problem. The second part of the paper describes the soliton surfaces approach. The so called Sym-Tafel formula simplifies the explicit reconstruction of the surface from the knowledge of its fundamental forms, unifies various integrable nonlinearities and enables one to apply powerful methods of the theory of solitons to geometrical problems. The Darboux-Bianchi-B\"acklund transformation (i.e., the dressing method on the level of soliton surfaces) reconstructs explicitly many classical transformations of XIX century. We present examples of interesting classes of surfaces obtained from spectral problems. In particular, we consider spectral problems in Clifford algebras associated with orthogonal coordinates. Finally, compact formulas for multi-soliton surfaces are discussed and applied for the Localized Induction Equation with axial flow.

Abstract:It is well established that many integrable soliton equations can be constrained from the famous AKNS system. In this paper, aiming to generate new integrable soliton equations, the potentials of the AKNS system are constrained to a pair of fractional conjugate ones. The resulted equations include two fractional Scrödinger equations which are integrable for their own Lax pairs. Furthermore, odd‐soliton solutions are obtained through N‐fold Darboux transformations. Dynamic properties of the obtained solutions are analyzed in detail. These results suggest that the AKNS system allows a new type of potential constraints. PACS: 02.30.Ik, 05.45.Yv.

Abstract:Under investigation in this paper is the variable coefficient nonlocal Fokas–Lenells equation. On the basis of the Lax pair, the infinitely-many conservation laws and N th-fold Darboux transformation are constructed. Depending on zero seed solution, soliton solutions are derived via the Darboux transformation. Based on nonzero seed solution, breather solutions and rogue wave solutions are obtained. The behaviors of solutions are clearly analyzed graphically. The influences of variable coefficient for solutions are discussed. The different profiles of solitons, breathers and rogue waves are observed via selecting different variable coefficients. Furthermore, the interaction of solitons and the interaction of breathers for the variable coefficient nonlocal Fokas–Lenells equation are both elastic.

Abstract:The mixed nonlinear Schrödinger (MNLS) equation is a model for the propagation of the Alfvén wave in plasmas and the ultrashort light pulse in optical fibers with two nonlinear effects of self-steepening and self phase-modulation(SPM), which is also the first non-trivial flow of the integrable Wadati-Konno-Ichikawa(WKI) system. The determinant representation Tn of a n-fold Darboux transformation(DT) for the MNLS equation is presented. The smoothness of the solution q[2k] generated by T2k is proved for the two cases (non-degeneration and double-degeneration ) through the iteration and determinant representation. Starting from a periodic seed(plane wave), rational solutions with two parameters a and b of the MNLS equation are constructed by the DT and the Taylor expansion. Two parameters denote the contributions of two nonlinear effects in solutions. We show an unusual result: for a given value of a, the increasing value of b can damage gradually the localization of the rational solution, by analytical forms and figures. A novel two-peak rational solution with variable height and a non-vanishing boundary is also obtained.

Abstract:The nonlocal Darboux transformation of the stationary axially symmetric Schr\"odinger equation is considered. It is shown that a special case of the nonlocal Darboux transformation provides the generalization of the Moutard transformation. Formulae for the generalized Moutard transformation are obtained. New examples of two - dimensional potencials and exact solutions for the stationary axially symmetric Schr\"odinger equation are obtained as an application of the generalized Moutard transformation.

Abstract:For the (1 + 2)-dimensional AKNS system of lower order, a linear system which separates variables is constructed. It is found out that any nonlinear equation generated by such a linear hyperbolic su(N) system admits solutions which tend to zero in all directions in the space. The solutions given by nth Darboux transformation split up into more than n solitons as t --> infinity. The application to the Davey-Stewartson I equation is considered.

Abstract:The nonlinear Schr{\"o}dinger (NLS) equation, which incorporates higher-order dispersive terms, is widely employed in the theoretical analysis of various physical phenomena. In this study, we explore the non-commutative extension of the higher-order NLS (HNLS) equation. We treat real or complex-valued functions, such as and as non-commutative, and employ the Lax pair associated with the evolution equation as in the commutation case. We derive the quasi-Gramian solution of the system by employing a binary Darboux transformation (DT). extcolor[rgb]{0.50,0.00,0.00}{The soliton solutions are presented explicitly within framework of quasideterminants. In order to visually understand the dynamics and solutions in the given example, we also provide simulations illustrating the associated profiles.} Moreover, the solution can be used to study the stability of plane waves and to understand the generation of periodic patterns in the context of modulational instability.
