Abstract:as one of the tools used by government, integrated land-use planning system responds to the need for public policy. Land use planning procedures must be fair in the sense that the people who could be potentially affected by a decision have an opportunity to participate in the planning process. In this paper, we conducted investigation and research as of public preference on three issues - primary farmland protection, residential area liquidation, and infrastructural need existed in land use planning process. Surveys were undertaken in more than 11 rural areas around Beijing. Our objectives were to gain insight into public interest and understand residential demand in the land use planning. Our results revealed that resident demand in different counties varied significantly. Sampling method and mathematic statistics were being used in this paper.
