Abstract:The original HOMFLY-PT polynomials can be fully determined by a very simple rule, the skein relation, while the colored HOMFLY-PT invariants (2 variables) of links are notoriously hard to compute. Inspired by the large N duality connecting Chern–Simons gauge theory and topological string theory, the Labastida–Mariño–Ooguri–Vafa (LMOV) conjecture for links (or framed links) predicts integrality, pole order structure and symmetric property for the colored HOMFLY-PT invariants. By studying the LMOV conjecture for framed links, we uncover certain congruence skein relations for the (reformulated) colored HOMFLY-PT invariants. Although these congruence skein relations still can not fully determine the colored HOMFLY-PT invariants, they provide a strong pattern for the colored HOMFLY-PT invariants, which possibly could pave a way for people to understand the very mysterious nature of the colored HOMFLY-PT invariants. We prove that these congruence skein relations hold in many different situations. Finally, we discuss the applications of the congruence skein relations in framed LMOV conjecture.

Abstract: This paper discuss an intrinsic relation among congruent relations \cite{CLPZ}, cyclotomic expansion and Volume Conjecture for $SU(n)$ invariants. Motivated by the congruent relations for $SU(n)$ invariants obtained in our previous work \cite{CLPZ}, we study certain limits of the $SU(n)$ invariants at various roots of unit. First, we prove a new symmetry property for the $SU(n)$ invariants by using a symmetry of colored HOMFLYPT invariants. Then we propose some conjectural formulas including the cyclotomic expansion conjecture and volume conjecture for $SU(n)$ invariants (specialization of colored HOMFLYPT invariants). We also give the proofs of these conjectural formulas for the case of figure-eight knot.

Abstract:Many knots and links in S^3 can be drawn as gluing of three manifolds with one or more four-punctured S^2 boundaries. We call these knot diagrams as double fat graphs whose invariants involve only the knowledge of the fusion and the braiding matrices of four-strand braids. Incorporating the properties of four-point conformal blocks in WZNW models, we conjecture colored HOMFLY polynomials for these double fat graphs where the color can be rectangular or non-rectangular representation. With the recent work of Gu-Jockers, the fusion matrices for the non-rectangular [21] representation, the first which involves multiplicity is known. We verify our conjecture by comparing with the [21] colored HOMFLY of many knots, obtained as closure of three braids. The conjectured form is computationally very effective leading to writing [21]-colored HOMFLY polynomials for many pretzel type knots and non-pretzel type knots. In particular, we find class of pretzel mutants which are distinguished and another class of mutants which cannot be distinguished by [21] representation. The difference between the [21]-colored HOMFLY of two mutants seems to have a general form, with A-dependence completely defined by the old conjecture due to Morton and Cromwell. In particular, we check it for an entire multi-parametric family of mutant knots evaluated using evolution method.

In this article, following the method and results in \cite{CZ23-1}, we present an asymptotic expansion formula for the colored Jones polynomial of twist knot $\mathcal{K}_p$ with $p\geq 6$ at the root of unity $e^{\frac{2\pi\sqrt{-1}}{N+\frac{1}{M}}}$ with $M\geq 2$. Furthermore, by taking the limit $M\rightarrow +\infty$, we obtain an asymptotic expansion formula for the colored Jones polynomial of twist knots $\mathcal{K}_p$ with $p\geq 6$ at the root of unity $e^{\frac{2\pi\sqrt{-1}}{N}}$.

Colored HOMFLY-PT for hybrid weaving knot $\hat{W}_{3}(m,n)$

Abstract:Weaving knots $W(p, n)$ of type $(p, n)$ denote an infinite family of hyperbolic knots which have not been addressed by the knot theorists as yet. Unlike the well-known $(p,n)$ torus knots, we do not have a closed-form expression for HOMFLY-PT and the colored HOMFLY-PT for $W(p,n)$. In this paper, we confine to a hybrid generalization of $W(3,n)$ which we denote as $\hat{W}_3(m,n)$ and obtain a closed-form expression for HOMFLY-PT using the Reshitikhin and Turaev method involving $\mathcal R$-matrices. Further, we also compute $[r]$-colored HOMFLY-PT for $W(3,n)$. Surprisingly, we observe that trace of the product of two dimensional $\hat{\mathcal{R}}$-matrices can be written in terms of an infinite family of Laurent polynomials $\mathcal{V}_{n,t}[q]$ whose absolute coefficients has an interesting relation to the Fibonacci numbers $\mathcal{F}_{n}$. We also computed reformulated invariants and the BPS integers in the context of topological strings. From our analysis, we propose that certain refined BPS integers for weaving knot $W(3,n)$ can be explicitly derived from the coefficients of Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind.

Abstract:We conjecture the existence of four independent gradings in the colored HOMFLY homology. We describe these gradings explicitly for the rectangular colored homology of torus knots and make qualitative predictions of various interesting structures and symmetries in the colored homology of general knots. We also give a simple representation-theoretic model for the HOMFLY homology of the unknot colored by any representation. While some of these structures have a natural interpretation in the physical realization of knot homologies based on counting supersymmetric configurations (BPS states, instantons, and vortices), others are completely new. They suggest new geometric and physical realizations of colored HOMFLY homology as the Hochschild homology of the category of branes in a Landau-Ginzburg B-model or, equivalently, in the mirror A-model. Supergroups and supermanifolds are surprisingly ubiquitous in all aspects of this work.

Twisted Iwasawa invariants of knots

Abstract:Let $p$ be a prime number and $m$ an integer coprime to $p$. In the spirit of arithmetic topology, we introduce the notions of the twisted Iwasawa invariants $\lambda, \mu, \nu$ of ${\rm GL}_N$-representations and $\mathbb{Z}/m\mathbb{Z}\times \mathbb{Z}_p$-covers of knots. We prove among other things that the set of Iwasawa invariants determine the genus and the fiberedness of a knot, yielding their profinite rigidity. Several intuitive examples are attached. We further prove the $\mu=0$ theorem for ${\rm SL}_2$-representations of twist knot groups and give some remarks.

Abstract:We propose a generalized version of knots-quivers correspondence, where the quiver series variables specialize to arbitrary powers of the knot HOMFLY-PT polynomial series variable. We explicitely compute quivers for large classes of knots, as well as many homologically thick 9- and 10-crossings knots, including the ones with the super-exponential growth property of colored HOMFLY-PT polyomials. In addition, we propose a new, compact, quiver-like form for the colored HOMFLY-PT polynomials, where the structure of colored differentials is manifest. In particular, this form partially explains the non-uniqueness of quivers corresponding to a given knot via knots-quivers correspondence.

Abstract:We prove that the double branched cover of a twist-roll spun knot in $S^4$ is smoothly preserved when four twists are added, and that the double branched cover of a twist-roll spun knot connected sum with a trivial projective plane is preserved after two twists are added. As a consequence, we conclude that a family of homotopy $\mathbb{CP}^2$s recently constructed by Miyazawa are each diffeomorphic to $\mathbb{CP}^2$.

Abstract:We introduce twisted set-theoretic Yang-Baxter solutions and develop an associated cohomology theory, which extends the standard cohomology theory of Yang-Baxter solutions. By employing cocycles of twisted biquandles along with Alexander numbering, we construct state-sum invariants for knots and knotted surfaces. As an application, we use our approach to distinguish the $2$-twist spun trefoil from its reverse orientation, in line with prior findings.

The invariant is then a homological intersection pairing between two submanifolds of a configuration space of points in a disk. Abstract:Pairs of genus 2 mutant knots can have different Homfly polynomials, for example some 3-string satellites of Conway mutant pairs. We give examples which have different Kauffman 3-variable polynomials, answering a question raised by Dunfield et al in their study of genus 2 mutants. While pairs of genus 2 mutant knots have the same Jones polynomial, given from the Homfly polynomial by setting v=s^2, we give examples whose Homfly polynomials differ when v=s^3. We also give examples which differ in a Vassiliev invariant of degree 7, in contrast to satellites of Conway mutant knots.

Abstract:In "Homfly polynomial via an invariant of colored plane graphs", Murakami, Ohtsuki, and Yamada provide a state-sum description of the level $n$ Jones polynomial of an oriented link in terms of a suitable braided monoidal category whose morphisms are $\mathbb{Q}[q,q^{-1}]$-linear combinations of oriented trivalent planar graphs, and give a corresponding description for the HOMFLY-PT polynomial. We extend this construction and express the Khovanov-Rozansky homology of an oriented link in terms of a combinatorially defined category whose morphisms are equivalence classes of formal complexes of (formal direct sums of shifted) oriented trivalent plane graphs. By working combinatorially, one avoids many of the computational difficulties involved in the matrix factorization computations of the original Khovanov-Rozansky formulation: one systematically uses combinatorial relations satisfied by these matrix factorizations to simplify the computation at a level that is easily handled. By using this technique, we are able to provide a computation of the level $n$ Khovanov-Rozansky invariant of the 2-strand braid link with $k$ crossings, for arbitrary $n$ and $k$, confirming and extending previous results and conjectural predictions by Anokhina-Morozov, Beliakova-Putyra-Wehrli, Carqueville-Murfet, Dolotin-Morozov, Gukov-Iqbal-Kozcaz-Vafa, Nizami-Munir-Sohail-Usman, and Rasmussen.

The Large-Color Expansion Derived from the Universal Invariant

Abstract:The colored Jones polynomial associated to a knot admits an expansion of knot invariants known as the large-color expansion or Melvin-Morton-Rozansky expansion. We will show how this expansion can be derived from the universal invariant arising from a Hopf algebra $\mathbb{D}$, as introduced by Bar-Natan and Van der Veen. We utilize a Mathematica implementation to compute the universal invariant $\mathbf{Z}_{\mathbb{D}}(\mathcal{K})$ up to a certain order for a given knot $\mathcal{K}$, allowing for experimental verification of our theoretical results.

The Dehn twist on a connected sum of two homology tori

Abstract:Kronheimer-Mrowka shows that the Dehn twist along a $3$-sphere in the neck of two $K3$ surfaces is not smoothly isotopic to the identity. Their result requires that the manifolds are simply connected and the signature of one of them is $16 \mod 32$. We generalize the Pin$(2)$-equivariant family Bauer-Furuta invariant to nonsimply connected manifolds, and construct a refinement of this invariant. We use it to show that, if $X_1,X_2$ are two homology tori such that the determinants $r_1,r_2$ of them are odd, then the Dehn twist along a $3$-sphere in the neck of $X_1\# X_2$ is not smoothly isotopic to the identity.
