Abstract:Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) ranks among the most aggressive types of cancer globally. Currently, clinical tumor prognostic biomarkers still lack accuracy. Mitotic spindle positioning (MISP) protein connects microtubules to the actin cytoskeleton and adhesive plaques, playing a critical role in spindle positioning, orientation, and the process of cell division. MISP can regulate the malignant biological functions of pancreatic cancer and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and it acts as biomarker for prognosis, but its role in CRC remains unclear.
